Orlando Magic Yelled at Each Other During Team Meeting

The Orlando Magic suffered a disheartening loss in Atlanta last night, and in the ensuing team meeting, things got a little feisty. Reports the Orlando Sentinel: “It isn’t the first team meeting where there’s some yelling, and it won’t be the last. Magic fans probably were already screaming at the TV watching this one from home or a bar. The Magic held a loud pow-wow after their wretched loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night. They should have held a seance to ask the basketball gods for some help. It’s not as if we haven’t seen this picture before, especially against the Hawks. The Magic can’t beat them anymore, playoffs or regular season, and they didn’t even have a couple guys named Joe Johnson and Al Horford this time. Josh Smith and Hawks’ bench beat them. There was little energy, starting with the opening tip. There was bad shooting, ridiculously terrible 3-point shooting, some hare-brained plays. And one ticked-off coach. ‘I’ve been saying this to you guys…. I come across as negative…We don’t play hard every night,’ Stan Van Gundy said. ‘We’re not going to be anywhere near contenders in the East unless we’re going to play hard all the time – and we don’t.’ The players spoke up. ‘We talked about everybody coming back together,’ Magic forward Ryan Anderson said. ‘We got to keep each other accountable and make sure we play with great effort every night.'”
