Report: Kings Not Interested in Trading DeMarcus Cousins to Celtics

Earlier this week, an ESPN report suggested that the Celtics would target Kings All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins in an offseason trade. It’s widely assumed that DMC will eventually leave Sacramento, and that the Celtics could be a prime landing spot. But according to a report from inside the Kings organization, Sacramento plans to hang on to Cousins and “make a playoff run” next season.

Boogie averaged 24.1 ppg and 12.7 rpg in his first All-Star season, which was a struggle at times due to illness, injury and of course, having three different head coaches.

From CSN Bay Area:

The Kings want to make a playoff run next season with DeMarcus Cousins as the centerpiece of the franchise, league sources told CSNCalifornia.com.

The Celtics reportedly have significant interest in Cousins and are expected to utilize their bevy of draft picks to secure the 6-foot-11 center from Sacramento, according to an ESPN report.
