Tuesday night’s brouhaha between the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors cost players games and money. The only person who might come out on top, is Lance Stephenson, since teammate Roy Hibbert has offered to pick up the tab on his $35,000 fine. Per the AP and Indy Star: “Pacers center Roy Hibbert and Warriors forward David Lee have each been suspended a game without pay for starting an altercation during their game that drifted into the courtside seats. […] The NBA said Wednesday that the Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and the Pacers’ Lance Stephenson were fined $35,000 each for escalating the fight. […] Draymond Green started in place of Lee, who lost more than $115,800. Hibbert will sit out Thursday at home against the Clippers. He will forfeit more than $124,000. […] Hibbert said that he plans to pay Stephenson’s fine for ‘being a good teammate and having his back.’ […] Hibbert apologized for his actions after practice Wednesday. ‘My mom was a little upset,’ Hibbert said. ‘She said I should have walked away. It’s unfortunate it happened. I watched the video and I saw there was a little kid that ran up out of his seat when all that happened. I apologize to the fans that were sitting courtside. We’re a team that loves the fans and we don’t want to scare them away.'”
