Sellout Streak Comes to an End in Detroit

by February 05, 2009

As always, the blame falls to the economy: “The streak, which began Jan. 19, 2004, against the San Antonio Spurs, ended at 259 games. Palace Sports and Entertainment president Tom Wilson cited the economy as the main reason for streak’s end. ‘It was coming,’ Wilson said before the game against the Heat. ‘We knew at the beginning of the year with the economy being what it is, we knew it was coming. We didn’t know how long we could get through.'”
