It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. A Florida guy, Udonis Haslem played his high school and college ball in and around the 305 before catching on with the home team. He won that chip in ’06 and was one of just two holdovers (you may have heard of the other one, guy by the name of Wade) to still be in Heat unis this season.

Haslem was never a marquee guy, and he sure wasn’t gonna get shine with the star power of Wade, LeBron and Chris Bosh. But as the bluest of blue collar dudes, Haslem was gonna get PT (thanks for nothing, EC), and he was gonna do work.

One thing, though. With a 3-1 lead and the Championship more or less in hand, it was Haslem—not Bron or Bosh—who had to contend with an angry Kevin Durant. Given, this is his job. But for his sake, it would have been nice to appear on a different kind of poster.
