The NBA’s reigning champions, the Golden State Warriors, are not considered the favorites to re-claim the Larry O’Brien trophy next season.
Stephen Curry, the League’s reigning MVP, is slightly irked by the oddsmakers‘ prognostications.
Curry, speaking from Las Vegas last week during a Team USA mini-camp, says it’s all just “noise”.

Now, four of their players — Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes — are working out with Team USA during a three-day minicamp here in Vegas. Curry, the reigning MVP, said Wednesday he finds it “funny” that the Warriors aren’t considered the favorites to repeat as champions. […] And yes, that means he doesn’t find it funny.
“We obviously are the champs, and you’ve got to think that we’re gonna be a better team next year with our experiences that we’ve had, and we’re not the favorites,” Curry said. “Obviously there’s been a lot of noise, teams retooling and trying to boost their lineups. You have teams that haven’t set foot on the floor yet and are heavily favored to kick us off our throne.” […] Curry didn’t mention the Cavaliers, who despite losing to the Warriors in six games in the Finals, have been installed by oddsmaker Bovada as an 11-4 favorite to win the 2015-16 title. The Warriors are tied for second with the Spurs at 9-2.
“We obviously know what’s going on,” Curry said. “And it’s up to us to keep our momentum that we built.”
