LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are solely focused on their NBA title defense, but according to head coach Tyronn Lue, James could average a triple-double “if he wanted to.”
Bron had 30 points and 12 assists in Thursday night’s win against the Boston Celtics, and says that anything is possible (even with reduced minutes.)

LBJ had been playing more of a facilitator role early on in the season; he’s averaging 22.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 10.0 assists per game.

“I never thought it would be possible again after obviously The Big O did it, but if you see the game today, you see guys like Russ (Westbrook) and what he’s doing every night and I’ve come close a few times this season,” James said. “I don’t know if it’s just more possessions or guys are just in the right place at the right time. […] I’ve always told you guys I want to be a triple threat for my team every night and that’s scoring, rebounding and definitely getting my guys involved and if it results in that then I’m fine with that.”
Could James again join (Oscar) Robertson (who averaged 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists for the Cincinnati Royals in the 1961-62 season?)
“I think he could if he wanted to,” Lue added. […] “I can do whatever I put my mind to,” James concluded. “It’s just my mind ain’t on it.”
