Class of 2010 Recruit Commits To Clemson

By Franklyn Calle

This past Saturday night Marcus Thornton from Westlake (Atlanta, GA), committed to coach Oliver Purnell and the Clemson Tigers. The 6-7 junior chose the Tigers over ACC schools like Maryland and Wake Forest. Xavier, Dayton and Virginia Tech had also offered him a scholarship. Thornton claimed that the main reason for choosing Clemson was due to the “great relationship” he had with Head Coach Purnell and the rest of his staff. The power forward became Clemson’s second commitment of the class of 2010.
