Bradley Beal To Miss Tokyo Olympics With Team USA

With the Tokyo Olympics set to begin later this month, the USA Men’s Basketball team has been engaged in exhibition games leading up to the event. While these haven’t gone well, dropping their first two matches, things have only gotten worse.

On Wednesday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Bradley Beal had entered health and safety protocols at Team USA camp, placing his return to play status up in the air. The very next day, the team announced that Beal, a starter, would not be playing in the Tokyo Olympics.

Around the same time this was announced, Charania reported that Jerami Grant had also entered health and safety protocols at Team USA camp, although he had not tested positive for coronavirus.

With Beal no longer available in Tokyo and Grant’s status in question, Team USA has a lot to figure our before their first Olympic matchup.

Even before heading to Tokyo, the Team USA game against Team Australia on Friday in Las Vegas has been canceled.
