Cavaliers Part Ways With Tyler Cook

Days after converting his two-way contract to a standard deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers have revealed that they’ve waived Tyler Cook. Cook’s non-guaranteed contract would have become guaranteed had he remained on the roster through Tuesday.

By the time Cook’s contract clears waivers, the guarantee deadline will have passed so anybody interested in claiming the 24-year-old would need to commit to the forward for the full season. If he goes unclaimed, he’ll become a standard free agent.

Cook wasn’t heavily utilized with Cleveland’s big league squad during his stint as a two-way player and he didn’t see action in the two games that the Cavs played while he was under his standard contract.

The Cavaliers roster now sits at 14 players, with both of their two-way slots occupied.
