REPORT: 48 Players Entered Into NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols in December

The month of December has seen numerous NBA players be entered into the league’s health and safety protocols, and the number has been staggering.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA has had 63 players enter the league’s health and safety protocols this season, 47 of whom have been in December before the League insider reported that Kings center Alex Len entered protocols adding a 48th player to the extensive list.

Wojnarowski also notes that two head coaches, Indiana’s Rick Carlisle and Sacramento’s Alvin Gentry, and one executive, Toronto’s Masai Ujiri, have also been placed in protocols.

On Thursday alone, De’Aaron FoxRussell WestbrookBobby PortisJabari WalkerAvery BradleyIsaac Okoro, and Len were all placed in the league’s health and safety protocols.

Several teams have been hit hard by COVID-19; the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, and Brooklyn Nets all have had multiple players missing due to outbreaks.
