Carmelo Anthony Hopes the Knicks Will Retire His Jersey

Carmelo Anthony is hopeful his No. 7 Knicks jersey will someday hang high above Madison Square Garden.

Anthony, 35, spent seven seasons in New York.

Melo says the franchise expressed some interest in a reunion last summer.

Per The NY Post:

“Do I think about it? Anybody would want to get that opportunity if it’s there. We’ll see when that time comes. Hopefully, they’ll hang ‘7’ somewhere up there,” Anthony said.

Anthony confirmed an SNY report last week that his agent attempted to get him to the Knicks if Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving came and the club showed some interest.

Anthony’s agent, Leon Rose, also attempted to land him with the two stars after they signed with the Nets, but Brooklyn opted for Lance Thomas instead.
