Houston Rockets to Trade Victor Oladipo to Miami

Victor Oladipo could be heading to South Beach.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Houston Rockets are reportedly trading the 28-year old guard to the Miami Heat. Oladipo was traded to the Rockets last season in exchange for James Harden, who was sent to the Nets.

According to the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen, the Rockets will acquire Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, and a 2022 pick swap.

This is the fourth time he has been traded in his career, yet the Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported back in January that Oladipo had hopes to play in Miami. He also reportedly turned down a two-year, $45.2 million contract extension with the Rockets according to Wojnarowski.

Despite suffering a quad injury in 2019 that limited him to 55 games combined in two seasons, Oladipo has been making a comeback this year and is currently averaging 20.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 5.0 rebounds a game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field.

Now on the Heat, the two-time All-Star will add an athletic skillset and offensive game to a team that had a solid run in the playoffs last season and reached the NBA Finals. Oladipo, who is also a solid defender and led the League in steals (2.4) during the 2018-19 season, could pair well with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro.
