Jaylen Brown on Marcus Smart: ‘He’s Full of Fire’

After falling to the Miami Heat in two consecutive games of the Eastern Conference Finals, things weren’t looking great for the Boston Celtics. Down 2-0 in the series, the frustration from the court carried into the locker room.

There was a heated exchange between Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown that was later referred to as ‘water under the bridge’ as the two teammates had moved past this and were ready to head into Game 3 to turn things round.

After Game 2, Brown talked about Smart in a positive light, discussing the passion in the way he plays.

“He plays with passion, he’s full of fire, and that’s what I love about him most. He has that desire and that will, and we need him to continue to have that. We embrace each other, and who Marcus is, I love him for it.”

In Game 3, the Celtics turned things around getting their first win of the series. Brown and Smart were two of the best players on the floor, combining for 46 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds in this huge win to keep their title hopes alive.
