The New Orleans Pelicans have added additional depth in the form of free agent guard Sindarius Thornwell, the team has announced. Thornwell played through training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers but didn’t make the opening day roster.
Thornwell will serve as a replacement player for a Pels team on the outside of the Western Conference playoff picture eager to sneak in. He’s a 2017 second-round pick with 18 starts under his belt, all of which came during his two-year run with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Thornwell will finish the campaign for the Pelicans and be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. He’ll slot into Darius Miller’s spot on the Disney World roster.
