Andrew Wiggins With 27 Points vs the Cleveland Cavaliers (VIDEO)

Rookie stud Andrew Wiggins was, naturally, pumped to face the team that drafted him first overall last summer, only to deal him away for All-Star forward Kevin Love.

Wiggins finished with a game-high 27 points, as the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves lost 125-104 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Wiggins came to play, going head-to-head with LeBron James. (Love had a familiar double-double of 20 points and 10 boards.)

Per the Star Tribune:

Wiggins came back to Cleveland — “I was there like three days,” he said. — and the team that drafted him last June before he was traded in August along with Anthony Bennett and Thaddeus Young for Love.

“He was pretty excited,” said Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders, who could only tell through Wiggins’ play and not his expressions. “I thought he played probably his best. He has had some good games but considering the competition and considering the situation coming in here and everything, I thought he played very well.”

Wiggins confirmed his excitement for Tuesday’s game. […] “I was,” Wiggins said. “I think it’s obvious. This is a motivation game for me. I’m a competitor so it’s fun for me. I’m sure it’s fun for him [James] and fun for fans to see. He’s one of the best players in the league, so I think I learned a lot. He can score in a lot of different ways and impact the game a lot of different ways.”
