Marc Gasol Hits Game-Winning Runner to Beat Houston (VIDEO)

With the game on the line Wednesday night in Houston, the Memphis Grizzlies put the ball in Marc Gasol’s hands, and the big fella came through.

Gasol hit a tough baseline runner, leaving just .1 on the clock, and giving the Grizz a much-needed 102-100 road win against the Rockets.

Memphis escaped after James Harden was apparently fouled late in the game, but no whistle came.

Per the Houston Chronicle:

Gasol finished the night with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists. (Zach) Randolph had 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. […] Memphis’ top two big men turned up their lockdown defense in the second half, holding off the Rockets’ quick and scrappy big men.

“We came to him, and we knew he would hit it,” Randolph said.

“Our defense gave us that lift,” Gasol said. “We just never let up, and that put us in position to win.” […] “That was a huge win for us,” Randolph said. “We started playing defense, playing our way, and getting shots. That is what we are going to need as we go forward. “We know who we are and what we want to do.”
