Unhappy with the referee’s performance while his team played against McGill University in Canada, Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall flipped his wig. The Shockers’ coach charged and tried to intimidate the refs with a profanity laced tirade and was held back by his assistants and players before finally leaving the court.
“I’m definitely not proud of my reaction to that situation, but at some point your players have to know you’re going to stand up for them and you’ve got some fight in you,” Marshall told Kansas.com after the game. “Once I reacted, I said ‘I might as well get my money’s worth.’”
The Shockers won the game 77-71. Check out the temper tantrum above.
