Anthony Morrow to Honor Drazen Petrovic in 3-Point Contest

Awesome idea from the New Jersey Nets’ Anthony Morrow, who plans to honor the late, great Drazen Petrovic during All-Star Weekend. From the Bergen Record: “Anthony Morrow plans to wear a throwback Nets Jersey when he represents the Nets during All-Star Weekend. But here’s the cool part: Morrow, who has been waiting his whole career to make it to the three-point shootout, doesn’t want his name or number on the back of the jersey he wears. Morrow plans to honor the late Drazen Petrovic by donning his famous No. 3 during next weekend’s three-point shootout in Orlando. ‘I always said when I got in the three-point contest, I would wear his jersey,’ Morrow said, adding that when he signed with the Nets before the 2010-11 season, Petrovic’s jersey was the ‘first thing I saw when I walked in.’ Morrow will be the first Net to participate in the three-point shootout since Petrovic in 1992. Petrovic was killed in an automobile accident in 1993 at age 28. His number three was retired by the Nets and hangs a the team’s practice facility in East Rutherford and at Prudential Center. Morrow said he asked the NBA for clearance to wear Petrovic’s jersey during All-Star weekend.”
