Let’s face it: It’s not like he had much of a choice, after Stephen Jackson got a little too candid with the press following a lengthy talk with B-Diddy.

Baron Davis came out and denied Jackson’s claims that he wants out of L.A., and according to Davis, the thought of playing for the Warriors again is the furthest thing from his mind. Courtesy of the LA Times:

“No, I don’t want out,” he told The Times on Monday at practice. “I don’t know what Stephen Jackson got from my conversation. That never came out of my mouth.”

“We talked about how I miss playing with him. When you see people, you miss what you had,” Davis said. “Obviously, in no way shape or form am I ready to jump ship. That’s not why I came here. That’s not why I committed to come here. I’m committed here to turn this thing around. I like the talent on this team, I like the promise.”

Re-assuring as that may be for the Clipper front office and fans, the question remains: Why did Cap’n Jack say what he did?
