Report: Thomas Robinson to Sign With Brooklyn Nets

Thomas Robinson is about to join the Brookyln Nets, according to a report. Robinson, a 6-10 forward who was drafted No. 5 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Kings, was dealt from Portland to Denver last Thursday, but was waived almost immediately after the trade. Now, he’ll land in Brooklyn, where he hopes for more playing time and a chance to finally break out in the League.

From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

Forward Thomas Robinson has reached agreement on a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Robinson, the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft, will sign a 10-day deal with the Nets, which is expected to lead to an agreement for the remainder of the season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Robinson will clear NBA waivers on Tuesday at 5 p.m. EST.

After Portland traded Robinson to Denver on Thursday, Robinson’s agent requested he be waived because of a lack of playing time available to him with the Nuggets.

Brooklyn wants to take a long look at the 6-foot-10 Robinson with hopes of a potential future partnership. Robinson has played for the Kings, Houston Rockets and Trail Blazers without finding traction in his career.

Robinson, 23, averaged 12 minutes in 32 appearances for the Blazers this season.
