`Fire Isiah` T-Shirts … Already

Don`t you at least have to let the guy coach one game before passing judgement? No? Very well, carry on then.

I still can’t believe somebody offered the guy a job. He’s toxic.

College kids are so ahead of the curve!

  • Prison Mike

I think “Fire Thomas” rolls off the tongue better than “Fire Isiah.” That extra sylable in Isiah makes it sound weird.

the team sucks, and they just got worse.

  • RBGdUP

WTF? whats good with all of the negativity. He coached the Pacers to 3 playoff seasons, he’s top 5 PG to ever play, who cares about his seasons in New York. Look at what he did in the drafts, do you think D’Antonio would have a fraction of the marginal success he had this year if it weren’t for Zeke’s decisions. get outta here. This is probably the best arena for him, molding young players, and coaching grown men with ego’s and attitudes are totally different things. Best of luck Zeke

…I’m still trying to figure out who’s getting screwed in this deal…

I agree RBGdUP, I can’t believe everybody hates on Zeke, Yes he was a bad GM with New York, but its New York come on, Larry Bird is bad, Jordan is still bad with the Brown and Morrison picks and there are plenty more. Lakers GM, made one get draft pick in Bynum, by luck, so get off of one of the greatest, toughest point guards to every play this game. He took nothing from anybody, from Jordan to Bird. One of my favorite players all time. Don’t confuse the New York Bricks with his playing career and plus with the Pacers he was good coach and really what did Brown do with the knicks or Dantoni now, nothing, still will be picking in the lottery.

Isiah Thomas should never be hired in basketball again.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

What are you guys smoking? A program like FIU has a chance to hire a guy with MASSIVE pro experience who doubles as a HOF. He could have gone 0-82 with the Knicks last season and they would still have hired him. It’s all about the recruits you can get and Zeke will get guys. He’s always been a good college scout so he does have an eye. Look at Tim Floyd, terrible NBA coach, terrible X and O guy, high profile recruits. The fact that Zeke is at FIU means exposure for the kids that go there. Great move by FIU.

You’re right, Eddy Curry and Jerome James really helped D’Antoni succeed this season…

I mean, you act like no one gives Larry Bird and Michael Jordan grief for their HORRIBLE decisions as GM… but no one tops Isiah in awfulness. No one.

    Because Jordan isnt a GM…..

…yea cus the knicks are doing that much better this year! Let Isiah be!

  • speedy

He really isn’t an inspiring example or teacher with the things he did and said the last few years.

  • thesubwayconnection

I’m with Speedy. I’m not going to criticize (much) of what Isiah’s done with basketball. But his decisions that didn’t have to do with basketball over the last few years leave more than a little to be desired.

  • RBGdUP

Ken, well I guess you forgot all about David Lee, Wilson Chandler, and Nate Robinson who Zeke drafted. get outta here!

  • http://myspace.com/2grownup2beshownup Jack

Prison Mike: Fire Isiah is wayyy better. It’s got a uniqueness to it, especially considering there’s alot more Thomas’ that Isiah’s in this world.

  • that dude

cosign Speedy and thesubwayconnection. Isiah has major issues away from basketball. FIU is obviously thinking win-win with the publicity and Big name coach. Whether he’s an appropriate teacher for the players is inconsequential.

    Stay classy FIU!

When it comes to student athletes and their campus’ making millions of dollars…its alwasy the kids getting done over a barrel.

  • Joe

Wonder if he had to send in a 2 weeks notice? who would he give it to? since he does not answer to anybody or have a title with the Knicks

  • nastierthanyou

Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. I wish him the best.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I wish some people would stop drinking the D’Antoni Kool-Aid. The Knicks sucks. They finished next to last in the East. Chris Duhon is NOT a starting pg in this league. If you don’t think Marbury would have done better, you’re crazy. They traded their two best scorers for the hope of maybe (just may-be) landing LBJ or Wade in 2010 and they both look like they’re going to stay where they are. Nothing has changed in NY.

  • Lady X

I love how he was introduced as “Isiah Thompson” by the Athletic Director. Classic!! I think the Knicks should get a tax write off for his donated salary BTW.
