Taylor Dislocates Thumb in Fight at KU

Kansas sophomore guard Tyshawn Taylor dislocated his left thumb after an incident with the school’s football team on Tuesday evening. The Lawrence World Journal is reporting that shortly after 6:30 p.m., Taylor and some other members of the Jayhawks basketball team got into an altercation with the football team, in which punches were thrown out in front of the Burge Union. A source told the paper that the fight broke out as one group entered the building while the other one exited. So far the only reported injured has been the 6-3 Hoboken, New Jersey, native. Taylor is expected to return in three to four weeks. He was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, and released later on in the night. Head coach Bill Self was out on a recruiting trip at the time of the incident. It is unclear what caused the fight or whether disciplinary actions will be taken against those involved. Taylor averaged close to 10 points and 3 assists per game last season as freshman.

This is just stupid. It probably started with some friendly teasing or something and then escalated. I just honestly hope Bill Self or some Kansas or NCAA official don’t decide to discipline the players in the form of suspensions or even being taken off the team. I’m not a Kansas fan, I’m still mad at Self for leaving my Illini, but they’re one of the favorites right now and it would be a shame for them to lose some players.

This reminds me of the book Shaq came out with after his rookie season, where he talked about his LSU basketball team getting into a fight with the football team. Tyshawn Taylor and Sherron Collins are one thing, but who in their right mind (football player or not) would want to get into it with the Diesel?

    Where’s Tarzan?

It probably started when someone said “Hey, you all look STUPID wearing socks and sandals” and since most ballers refuse to be their own person, the quote affected the whole damn team, and then a little hissy fit broke out at good ol’ KU

“the fight broke out as one group entered the building while the other one exited” – such a drama, what a reason! Love it.

I just don’t understand this. When I was in college Football and BBall players were inseparable. These guys are at the same school too! this is retarded. I bet it is over some girls. Someone talked to someone elses girl or the B-ball team is hating cuz the Football team is good and they have groupies now. This is utterly retarded.
