Or so was thought…

So, what happened. You should at least give us a synopsis or don’t post until you have more info. This was a strange one.

  • http://www.kicksonfire.com Anton

    Well hellooooooooooooooo beautiful

  • Hibachi

I saw this on ESPN a while ago there was a story about her and why she quit. I was very surprised, i think she could have made the NBA!

  • http://www.alllooksame.com Tarzan Cooper

didnt she just quit cuz she didnt want to play at uconn? greg oden should have saved everyone the trouble and did the same thing.

    Co-sign Cheryl.

That’s some shoddy journalism, Tzvi. Way to make her look like a loser and a quitter.

Here are some infinitely better articles on Elena DelleDone: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/19/sports/ncaabasketball/19athlete.html

  • Sebastian B. O. Bunionstow, esq.

Good for her. Hope she finds happiness, just like the rest of us.

Cheryl and Eboy, y’all don’t know?

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Moose

Good for her to quit something even with so much pressure to do it. That takes, uhhh . . . guts.

This whole story was covered on the site extensively last summer…

I believe she wanted to be back around home for her sister who is severly disabled (not in a Clippers-ZBo kind of way). I say good on her.

I’m glad she quit. Don’t play a sport you don’t love. MORE POWER TO HER. She’s happy now playing volleyball. PERIOD.

  • dfrance83

Dang Walsh wassup wit all the caps. That must be tuff to deal with though, being the best at something that you don’t love doing. I do applaud her for looking out for herself and not everyone else. I think UConn is doing ok without her. lol

Dacre, thats fukked up. Zach’s dad just died. lay off the jokes for a while

  • littleshotlarry

…She did the right thing. I blame her parents though.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Mo, I knew…what I co-signed is a nice pic and little behind it for any other reader that may not have seen her story in the past.

  • JoeMaMa

    Girls play basketball?

  • L33tSauce

I had a chance to meet her down in Bethany Beach, Delaware over the Summer, and she’s an amazingly nice person who had her reasons. How would you like people putting all that pressure on you?

  • Daniel

Why provide a link to the story in the comments, but not in the actual post? Maybe you’re trying to get people to go run out and buy the back issues from last summer, so, uh, I guess I’ll start flipping through the stacks of Glamour, XXL, and SLAM that the dudes on 6th Avenue sell by the Grey’s Papaya. Shouldn’t every one of these stand-alone pics actually link to the article?

  • http://slamonline.com Tzvi T

Daniel, I agree with you all of the way, and it’s probably my bad that we didn’t link to the articles from the site this summer. A little miscommunication. Mea Culpa.

I wasn’t aware that happened my condolences to him and his family.

I posted something on her, and will continue to do so because it was her that was keeping me interested in womens college basketball. After CP3 left Knoxville, I though I was seeing the end of the evolution of womens basketball. EDD was supposed to be the next, and still can be. She must decide if hoops is what she WANTS to do for the rest of her life. She is a person who does not want the sport she plays to define her and I truly believe that’s exactly why she walked away. Add to the fact UCONN did not miss her this year, just imagine is she WAS there… I think the split was good for both parties EDD played well at UDEL in Volleyball and UCONN may very well may go undefeated… All is well in the world….

Well there’s always the Griner kid goin to Baylor…

Would a guy do this if he had a scholarship to a top D1 college? Methinks not.

  • http://indianz.com R3Z

Tahnee Robinson would ball this girl up. Leading the Nation in scoring and headed to JUCO National Tournament with her Game. Y’all better ask somebody!!
Tahnee Robinson Remember that name, SLAM.

  • http://www.benfolds.com/acappella Dacre

Jud Beuchler was a better volleyball player than basketballer..just knew where the money was.

  • luke

    I’m guessing ”R3Z” is actually Tahnee Robinson…..just a stab in the dark…..

  • luke

Slam can you pleaseeeeeee do an article on her in the next few issues…would be could to get a proper update :)

Do they just let everybody post atricles for SLAM? Just post something that basically says “here is something that happened a few months ago. We, like every other news outlet, covered it and here it is. Oh, we have no new information, we just like quantity over quality”. I miss SLAM.

  • Nick

Actually I will confirm that…Tahnee Robinson is probably one of the rawest, hidden talents out there. I know she was considered or is a former mcdonalds all american and signed right out of college Div I-A and fielded numerous offers. I am sure she will be back in those ranks very shortly.

  • chauncey

I confirm Nick’s post, she just had 25 tonight against Theresa Weatherspoon’s LA tech. Fierce.

  • hallz

tahnee is great talent that under the radar. u kno when your something when pat summit visited her out in wyoming. slam gots to look into her
