Gallery: SLAMonline Through the Years

And it don’t stop…

Earlier this week, SLAMonline received a fresh makeover, upgrading the site in hopes of improving presentation, accessibility, and timeliness of all our content. For the intricate changes and specific info on the upgrade, check out Ryne’s complete breakdown.

As the old saying goes, never forget where you came from and what brought you here. So, as we move forward, we’ll also look back—at the history of SLAMonline. For our new readers, the slideshow below may not hold the strongest significance. But tenured readers, fans, and basketball junkies will get a kick out of this. From a simple static-only homepage to the more complex current site, we’ve changed just as much as the subjects we cover.

All the old school heads should get a kick out of this.
I didn’t start commenting on here until like March of ’09, but I used to stop by before that and remember some of these older layouts.

I’m partial to 2003. You can still order my LeBron book on Amazon. Probably still for 1 cent.

Slide 8 is where I fell in love with this site. I even use the :: like you guys do in my writing sometimes, some influences stick with you always. Also, from Slide 8, can we have that Shaq back?

Does anyone else find SLAM’s current site horrible? I go on it because the content (usually) is good but the layout is like an 8th Grade IT project, and half the time the hyperlinks lead to different places. Change the layout SLAM!!

Got in when slide 3 happened. I’m old….. Used to have a lot of discussions on ‘Crash The Boards’. There was one topic, which included Vince Carter in the headline, that got over a thousand posts. Do you know which one Slam? I remember the name Mister Duncan from then. Don’t see the name on these boards, but curious if he still is around. Peace SLAM!
