    Greg Monroe > Roy Hibbert…

  • GP23 Posted: Feb.9 at 1:23 pm
    Luol Deng?

  • BRich Posted: Feb.9 at 1:26 pm
    Ryan.Anderson.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Feb.9 at 1:28 pm
    No Deng. Wow.
Man, I’m sorry but Jennings doesn’t deserve it at all, dude is inconsistent as f*ck, puts up some horrible shooting games and despite everyone wanting to rip Rose for not getting enough assists at 7.8 per, they cool with Jennings getting 5.3 per.
Anyone who says Deng doesn’t deserve it and isn’t an all star is not paying attention.
Bulls went 4-3 when he was out. His numbers may not impress but he’s the Bulls’ second most important player after Rose.
Take Deng off the Bulls and they probably fall to a 4 or 5 seed. Seriously.

Monroe over Hib and Deng over Iggy or BJ

  • showtime Posted: Feb.9 at 1:59 pm
Good list… Bj deserve to be their. u make a case for deng , but he was hurt , just like rondo,- its a short season. Jennings does have shooters.. have u seen the bucks???the only shooter consistently is delfino. So stop with it…

  • GP23 Posted: Feb.9 at 2:03 pm
co-sign Enigmatic… If Deng gets snubbed tonight, I will go f**king crazy !!

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 2:10 pm
I put Monroe over Hibbert on my ballot, but I understand why other folks didn’t. Detroit is very putrid. I didn’t have Iggy or Deng on my East list. I had no Pacer and no Sixers because neither team has a true All-Star, just great teams. I think they are going to post the individual ballots eventually.
And Enigmatic, I like Deng, but he’s missed quite a few games. Jennings has been the best player on an injury racked team, and before his recent slump, he was doing his thing. that squad is hurting for real. Deng is a very good player, but I didn’t see him as better than Paul Pierce, who was on my ballot. Here is my list:
    Western Conference Reserves
    Guards
    Steve Nash
    Monta Ellis
    Westbrook
    Forwards
    Aldridge
    Love
    Gay
    Center
    Marc Gasol Eastern Conference reserves
    Guards
    Joe Johnson
    Brandon Jennings
    Deron Williams
    Forwards
    Josh Smith
    Paul Pierce
    Chris Bosh
    Center
    Greg Monroe

    T.P.

  • Björn Atli Posted: Feb.9 at 2:22 pm
Jennings needs to get the nod.

  • royallblue11 Posted: Feb.9 at 2:52 pm
since when did missing games mean anything, didnt Iverson and T-mac pretty much get voted in despite only playing a couple of games? Dwayne Wade has missed as many games as Deng, does that mean he shouldn’t play? It would be huge for British basketball if Deng plays, definately getting that jersey if he does

  • spit hot fiyah Posted: Feb.9 at 2:53 pm
philli deserves one, iggy is probably their best all around player

  • Random Posted: Feb.9 at 2:59 pm
    Luol Deng over Deron Williams

  • Slick Ric Posted: Feb.9 at 3:04 pm
Luol over jennings, because jennings has been pretty good but he has to definitively outplay williams or rondo to be considered an all-star and I dont think he has. Luol is a winner and he should be rewarded for that now if guys want to put two pacers, nuggets, and sixer players in for winning. This year, the bulls have definitely been more of an team effort, particularly offensively and I think luol gets a lot of credit for that.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Feb.9 at 3:09 pm
Deng has missed 7 games. Only 2 more than Rose has.
    Wade has missed 9 games.
I realize Wade and Rose were voted in, but missing 7 games shouldn’t be a reason for leaving him off.
I’m just not impressed with Jennings.
If everyone is hurt that just makes it easier for him to get his buckets, and again he’s gotten his FG% up, but he still has games where he shoots below 30%.

  • LLC#12 Posted: Feb.9 at 3:28 pm
Deng!!! Also, I’d be surprised if Gallo makes the cut. Jennings is a loose cannon, I never know if he’s going to shoot the lights out or throw bricks at them.

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 3:37 pm
Everybody has bad games. Deng is great bu I didn’t feel like he did more this year than Jennings and he hasn’t been a better player than Pierce or Smith who were more on the fringe for me.

  • jpm34 Posted: Feb.9 at 3:40 pm
Put Deng in instead of Joe Johnson and id be in 100 percent. behind this list. In the end ATL will disapoint in da playoffs AGAIN.

  • D12FSU Posted: Feb.9 at 3:44 pm
    Deng.. Dirk..

  • Kevin Posted: Feb.9 at 3:45 pm
    No Tony Parker?

  • D12FSU Posted: Feb.9 at 3:49 pm
also that westbrook video/painting was great

  • Enigmatic Posted: Feb.9 at 3:53 pm
Well Allen, to keep it one hundred I’ve been an unapologetic Jennings hater for a minute now.
Lol I just feel like everything Derrick Rose gets bashed fr, Brandon Jennings is 10x more guilty of doing, but he gets a pass.
Anyways, I’m probably not the best person to speak on Jennings objectively.
I do agree it’s tough for Deng to get in because there are some deserving forwards.

  • boba Posted: Feb.9 at 4:00 pm
skrillex references on slam now. jeeebus.

  • sophmore Posted: Feb.9 at 4:04 pm
he said he wont wirte 50 words but he wrote 55 yes i counted

  • manu Posted: Feb.9 at 4:11 pm
    No Lowry?

  • datkid Posted: Feb.9 at 4:15 pm
enigmatic has a point about jennings doing everything worse than d.rose…. I’m still rooting for jennings tho lol. I know I’m being a blatant homer here bc John Wall is from NC but I REALLY want John wall in the all star game. It’s not his fault everybody on his team is crazy or a knucklehead. AND he’s been playing great! (LATELY) LOL

  • David M. Posted: Feb.9 at 4:45 pm
I like everyone on this list except Deron Williams.

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 4:50 pm
Well I bashed Jennings last year, and the year before, and questioned his placement on the Top 50 list. But, dude is hooping this year, so props should be given.

  • Armando Posted: Feb.9 at 4:55 pm
Hibbert and Marc Gasol aren’t All-Stars imo. Neither is Monroe. And before anyone says you have to select a center: no, you don’t. The coaches needs to select minimum ONE player as a backup center, but it needn’t be a player listed as a center at the ballot, but someone that can play the position. Thus the backup center for the east should be Bosh and the backup center for the west should be Aldrige or Love.. problem solved and there’s made room for more deserving players… Also, Gallo’s not an all-star (yet), and as much as I like Iggy I find including him hard. Deng should definitely be in, and the case could be made for Pierce as well.. It’s a close call between the Gasols as well, but I guess I’m still one of few who still would take Pau over Marc any day. Backups:
    West:
    G-Nash
    G-Westbrook
    F-Gay
    F-Love
    C-Aldridge
    WC-Ellis
WC-Parker (why force-pick Marc Gasol when Parker has really been balling and really is the better player at the moment?) East
    G-Rondo
    G-Johnson
    F-Deng
    F-Smith
    C-Bosh
    WC-Jennings
WC-Williams I’d still consider Pierce though, and as mentioned, Iggy, but in place of who… and who, watching basketball, feels Hibbert is a better player than any of these seven?

  • str8 from samoa Posted: Feb.9 at 5:20 pm
monta ellis is all im saying..

  • ripslam Posted: Feb.9 at 5:20 pm
East: Rajon Rondo , Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Josh Smith, Chris Bosh, Andre Iguodala, Deron Williams
    -
West: Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, Monta Ellis

  • Armando Posted: Feb.9 at 5:26 pm
C’mon, I wanna hear a sound arguments for Gasol over Parker.

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 5:33 pm
Marc Gasol is averaging 15 and 10 with probably about 3-4 assists. Dude is the engine that stirs the Grizzlies and is equally as important to their success as Rudy Gay, in my opinion.
Who is the second best center in the West if not Gasol? You have to include a center on the ballot, or a forward who plays a lot of center. And as far as Parker, Tony is having a great year, although it’s one of the most inefficient of his career. I can see you taking him over Rudy Gay, and I would be fine with that.

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 5:35 pm
I feel like Pierce is better than Deng right now. Much better to be honest. Not even close actually. No way should Deng get in over him.
I can see Rudy Gay not making it to get Gasol in. I think Gasol has been the more consistent player, and brings more to the table right now as far as all around game.

  • nbk Posted: Feb.9 at 5:50 pm
I’m sorry but Brandon Jennings is far too inconsistent to be an all-star. He’s only averaging 19 and 5 on 42% shooting. Rondo has been way better. (Even though he has only played 16 games). Irving has been better (even if you don’t like it). Sh*t even Paul George has been better when you factor in defense. – And it’s not like Milwuakee deserves an All-Star as a team, they are 11-14. – Jennings has been much better then any of his previous seasons, but he has not been one of the 12 best players in the conference.

  • RunNGun Posted: Feb.9 at 5:58 pm
    Rubio for all star reserve.

  • Armando Posted: Feb.9 at 6:01 pm
OK, I can buy that Allenp, and I can agree that right now his value to the Grizz is equal to Gay’s. It’s not that I’d be too upset if either Gasol makes it, I just think Parker’s the better player. What you said about centers is exactly what I tried to say. I might have expressed myself unclearly, but still, Bosh, Love and Aldridge are forwards that play a lot of center. The Pierce/Deng call is a tough one as well. I’m still going with Deng despite the injury based on overall play this season (though Pierce has def been playing well lately). I don’t think we disagree that much either, just wanted some weigh-in. As expressed in another thread, the center issue is the main thing for me, but perhaps more important in the east – make it the 12 best players regardless of position.

  • Allenp Posted: Feb.9 at 6:04 pm
I don’t have a problem with any of those other cats except for George. But, I really wanted to pick Kyrie actually. I thought Rondo had missed a lot of time though. But Kyrie almost got in over Jennings. I actually just felt like Cleveland might have a better team given the Bucks injuries and the Steven Jackson debacle.

  • Armando Posted: Feb.9 at 6:07 pm
@nbk: OK, I see your Jennings argument, but to say George has been better is a bit of a stretch now.. I’d like to see him in the game, but if Pierce makes it at his expense I’m not going to argue loudly.

  • Armando Posted: Feb.9 at 6:09 pm
Exactly why I’m giving Jennings a slight nod over Irving in the point guard rankings as well… (Rubio will become better than both though)

  • logues Posted: Feb.9 at 6:51 pm
paul pierce and luol deng deserve to make it

  • logues Posted: Feb.9 at 6:59 pm
    as does james harden

  • yahoo Posted: Feb.9 at 7:01 pm
i don’t think anyone’s mentioned this above, so here’s what I have issue with:
    where’s deng?

  • deron Posted: Feb.10 at 5:47 pm
There’s going to be snubs every year. I’m just glad to see new blood in the All-Star game; a handful of players have dominated the selections over the last 10 years or so. http://theresastatforthat.blogspot.com/2012/02/nba-has-next-class-of-perennial-all.html
