Desperation can drive a man to do nearly anything.
Varejao wasn’t completely innocent, but a shot to the groin from Ray Allen was still uncalled for.

It was Easter, Jesus can do whatever he wants.
I bet Allen is a strong dude and could give a guy his size a real tough fight… but he better back off before getting pounded by a dude eight inches taller and way beefier.
I guess Varejao must of had them off tucked in cuz i dont know how the hell he didnt feel any pain on that. I mean he didnt even flinch!
prolly had on a cup, its probably happened to him before and he came prepared
Well he kinda catches Ray’s elbow with his knees before too much damage is done, but he still should have flinched at least a little bit.
Obviously Varejao doesn’t have any balls.
Classy, Ray Allen. Classy.
Now Chris Paul, Reggie Evans, and Ray Allen all have something in common.
Jeff van gundy: “I’m impressed by Varejao”
Mark Jackson: “I’m NOT”
LOOOOL. thank god for this duo
isn’t it strange that the prince of the flop (ginobili is the king), didnt even blink.
the league should inspect this bcuz ther mite be a reverse, juwana man situation here
I’m sure there’s a good reason…Ray might of thought it was Christmas and was playin’ jingle balls?
he deserved it
That was so cheezy Coach Master lol
haha agree with MeloMan13, gotta love van gundy, et al. if they threw down, i’d put my money on ray allen.
caught the elbow with his crotch. all kinds of strangeness going on here.
@Jackie Moon: What Reggie Evans did is way worse that what Chris and Ray did. Those two gave a shot with the fist and elbow, Reggie grabbed and pulled.
You guys have to put up the Sczerbiak block.
baggy shorts saved Varejo, otherwise Allen would have aimed higher.
and Varejo kept his arms up the whole time, smart, yet stupid at the same time
Ah-Ha! Varejo caught Ray’s elbow before it reached his nuts! What reaction time! Amazing!
G8RS; Anderson would have ripped Ray-Ray in half if they went all out. My good friend Henrique (who’s a solid 6’8, 245) used to play against him back in Brazil, he’s told me all kinds of story about how Anderson was that kind of guy who’ll keep hurting you within the game. But if the beef ever got taken up a notch, he was the first to throw down, and throw down hard.
If you see the clip, Varejao does the smart thing in throwing up his hands and avoiding escalating the situation (avoiding any suspension that could carry over into the playoffs). But he never backs down and keeps moving towards Allen eye-balling him and talking smack every step of the way. Thus also making the officials (and Stern) take notice that there was a mayor violation, which may or may not result in Allen having a suspension.
the little boy ray shoulda been tossed….swings elbow makes contact, outa there,…..I’m a Laker fan and still remember Kobe getting tossed for swinging at air (“unnatural” movement, or action or some term the league came up with) and he was PENILIzed by the league, and under scrutiny for games following…ray just gets away with stuff cuz he’s the leagues little baby face…Anderson played it right.
THIS MUST BE PAYBACK FOR THE ELBOW HE THREW ZHSHS…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f1XYDKJFtk
never liked Sideshow Bob before this. You don’t hit a man there. Weak, & another sign of Celtic arrogance.
Man, I knew Ray was a crutch player……
So this is why Jesus wept…..
“wow allen didn’t even bend varejo over with that one”
Ray Allen is a b*tch. Varejao gets on my last nerve with his penchant for flopping ridiculously, but — just as a general rule — referees need to stop with the lazy double tech call. If someone gets a tech for being the recipient of a cheap shot, he might as well make it worth his while and hit back. That’s my theory. If refs want to get things under control they ought to seek out the real offenders… Pryzbilla vs. West especially comes to mind.
well varejao’s hair looks like a woman’s…..

Anyone remember when sheed grabbed varejao’s face, threw him down & drained the game winner on varejao a couple years ago in the playoffs?
Van Gundy is GOLD!
I don’t know if Shuttlesworth meant to nail Andy in the groin, he wasn’t even looking when he swung that elbow back.
Well what was Ray expecting between his legs Teddy? His head?
i hope that ray will do it again in the playoffs, just so we could give him a new nickname: mr. ping ping
Nah, eff that. Vare-Shove-O is up 20 pts in a blowout against a short sided squad, he’s blockin out a guy he’s got what 8 inches and 80 pounds on, throws him to the ground in an arm lock and THEN STANDS OVER THE GUY. He’s just lucky that it was only Ray Allen who is not mean or dirty, cuz he was pushing with his elbow trying to make some room from that smelly hippy lookin turd (not aiming mind you). I’d like to see him try that on someone his size – he’d wind up in ICU
Way to give a cheap shot while nobody’s watching.
“Yeah, you can’t take that shot and get a T”
AV looks absolutely ridiculous walking around with his hands in the air like that. Does he point his fingers down at Allen, cappin’ style?
‘Well what was Ray expecting between his legs Teddy? His head?’
ridiculous is Ray Allen, he tried to hit AV while he was not looking and after he pretended to give some attitude, but if you look, AV was walking foward while RA was running away… AV plays tough and some lazzy ass players don’t like that… I’d bet my house in AV if they started a fight.
Anton, I’m glad you posted that .gif.
Ray Allen suspended one game.
