Video: The Lakers 2009 Finals Run

At long last!

They say reliving an event can be better than experiencing the event itself. After watching the plentiful camera angles, riveting soundtracks, extra interviews, radio and television commentary, and extraordinary film editing, I almost convinced myself watching the Finals live was a waste of time. The only way this mix could’ve improved is if it came with buttery popcorn.

Props all go to two of mixmaking’s brightest up-and-comers Max Frishberg (aka Maxamillion) and Tyson Johnston (aka Domino) for one of the best collaborations of the season, and certainly the NBA Finals. It’s rare that two superpowers bless us with some 10 minutes of highlights. This is truly a treat worthy of some high praise. Check out more from Frishberg at his website and for more from Johnston via his YouTube channel.

11/10. There aren’t many videos that bring a tear to my eye and this was one of them. There’s a long 10 minutes and there’s the 10 minutes that ends too soon. Again, this was the latter. This >>>>> TNT & ESPN.

I wonder if they should make one for LeBron’s MVP parade.

    BIL represent.

  • Chris Posted: Jun.23 at 3:23 pm
Well, well made video. Fantastic. One thing that still irks me is how the call the Champions World Champions, doesn’t that involve teams from other countries to participate? (As a Canadian) Canada doesn’t count.

  • Prison Mike Posted: Jun.23 at 10:16 pm
Chris is right. However, since USA won the olympics, Lakers are the World Champs. That being said, the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 championships do not count because that is when usa first failed to win gold and then finally won it after boston’s national championship. so before the lakers won the 2009 world championship, the last legit world champion was the 2002 lakers.

  • The Chad Posted: Jul.3 at 3:32 pm
haha what a moron Chris. Haven’t you ever heard of the Toronto Raptors? Last time I checked, Toronto was not part of the United States. Lakers repeat!!!

  • Austin Posted: Jul.3 at 4:43 pm
They call it the “world” champions because they’re the champions of the NBA world, not the whole entire world.

That was one great video, awesome job

  • Jason Posted: Jul.9 at 9:14 pm
They call it the World Champions because all of the best players in the WORLD play in the NBA. It’s not like it is only American players. The NBA is the best basketball league in the world, that is why they are the WORLD Champions
