Diddy himself was throwing a party in some bar in the United Center, I wouldn’t leave my seat for anything but a beer in between quarters and a bathroom break to p*ss out said beer. I agree with Black Rick. Really, if you turn on any NBA game playing in almost any city, it’s a damn shame. I’m so freakin’ tired of seeing the chicks who are just looking down at their phones the entire game, or the dudes who don’t even like basketball, but have courtside seats because it’s a status symbol or they wanted to entertain some clients who also don’t even like basketball. Meanwhile the true fans are up in the nosebleeds. You know what used to tick me off at Bulls games? When Benny the Bull and other people who go around shooting the shirts out of those t-shirt canon looking things. And people would yell and go nuts, and I’m like “F*CK the shirts, did y’all just see the move D. Rose made?” But noooo, they’re going on yelling and screaming over some damn shirts. Or how about when we beat a team like 99 to 73 but the fans go home pissed because they don’t get their free big macs. Man, f*ck a big mac, we just won by 26!! But it’ll never change though, it is what it is. I just gotta live with the fact that I’m rooting for my team from two thousand miles away a thousand times as hard as the dude sitting courtside.

I have no allegiance to Miami or the Heat organization, and with a few exceptions would be thrilled if that entire state disappeared into the Atlantic. That said, what is Miami? It’s a city of immigrants (i.e. people who didn’t grow up with a connection to the city’s sports franchises) that also has year-round nice weather. In other words, great combination for people not going to sporting events, professional or otherwise. Miami teams have always struggled to fill seats. NBA tickets are expensive as sh*t. The economy is terrible. Is it realistic to expect 20,000 people to fill that building night in, night out?
And is the core group of Heat fans – the ones who can actually afford tickets anyway — really “worse” than fans in Chicago or San Antonio, or is it just smaller?
The video, though? Yeah, the video is really lame.

while i agree that the video is extremely lame, the heat season tickets are completely sold out and they fired all of the season ticket sales staff because they are simply not needed. Brion “i wonder how the heat make money” you have no clue what you are talking about. game yesterday was a 7pm start which is extremely early. not sure how traffic is in the dump known as cleveland, but in miami it takes a while to go get to the arena. plus, they have security lines to get to the arena that resemble that of tsa. go to a game in person and tell me there is no atmosphere. you chicago fans can have your fat polish chics, we got models and lebron baby

anyone from Miami know if they jacked up the ticket prices this season? i get angry that a lot of the fake fans that end up to the games are there because the true die-hard fans have legitimate financial concerns. i’d love to see cheaper ticket prices in general (and let the grater turnout and additional revenue from concessions, parking, merchandise, etc, compensate for the cuts).

There seems to be confusion around this: the tickets are sold. The attendance is at 19,600. Every game. There are no season tickets left to be sold. The issue is that the people buying the tickets can’t be bothered with showing up on time – or even at all. Which is actually worse, mind you. But hey.

Because Miami is a BIG hype even before the THRICE showed up and came together. Even in the post season and specially, specially when they WON the championship I saw a lot of empty seats. Lets face it, the city is not a sports fanatic town, maybe they should put a soccer team instead and have James play goalie, DWade as a striker and Bosh still as a forward.

Went to Miami many of times and the city just seems dead like nothing is going on, even Panama city got more shit to do than this HYPE city. All that b.s. they be showing on music t.v. is fabricated. As a european, it is sad to see any NBA games. Even the so called playoff athmosphere in most citys doesn’t even compare to friendlies of our 2nd division soccer club. And I’m talkin germany here, don’t get me started about the nutjobs from Greece/Turkey. Maybe its because of ticket prices, but from a distance it seems like fans in NBA Arenas like to keep to themselves instead of enjoying the game as collective experience with 20k others.
I also see a lot of guys take their girls to games. You rarely see that here unless the girl is a die hard fan, too.
Atleast you don’t have annoing nazi Ultras that occupy a certain area of the arena.
