Rick Ross Plays a Game of One-On-One (VIDEO)

Who said Rozay can’t hoop?

In anticipation for his upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t, rapper Rick Ross is in full-on promotion mode. In the video above—well, for the first three minutes; the remainder of the video showcases behind-the-scenes footage of Ross’ video for “Hold Me Back”—the MMG lynchpin challenges music video director Spliff TV and manager Gucci Pucci in a game of one-on-one basketball. Rozay puts his plush residence, defensive slides and driving ability on full display. At the least, it’s a good dose of entertainment.

A warning before you click play: the video, as you might expect, contains an abundance of vulgar language.

I thought it might of been him vs. his stomach but it’s an actual human being he’s playing!

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

We play to the count of two.

  • http://twitter.com/FlavaKlav Klav

does this prove that Ross > Ye at hoops???

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

Man this music is so bad. And his name as an artist/actor is taken from a real gangster from way back. Fake!

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

Google the real Rick Ross, or ‘Planet Rock – The story of Hip Hop and the crack generation’!

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

L.E. shut up and nobody cares about a bunch old nobodies. None of them people are relevant at all in 2012

  • dud

    L.E fuck outta here

Nore,50 cent, capone, etc…all took names from gangsters. Rappers reference Mob and drug dealers all the same. Nobody wants the history liste. Kill that noise

  • one

@L.E that’s old news and the real Rick Ross lost the case against Rozzay and def jam for using his name

  • Mariano

@L.E. A lot of rappers take their names from old gangsters: Freeway, Capone, N.O.R.E., Cassidy, Scarface, and others

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2Pm_5aIavU&feature=g-all-u Max

^LOL, it means so much to be relevant in 2012 in the rap game…
Lil Wayne, Nicki, … are all so good at rapping.

L.E. nobody cares if he is fake or stole his name. the only ? is my civic shaking when rozay comes on?

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

    Watch the video Kevin.
Nobody would be relevant without these guys, because they invested the money, they made by pushing, into music studios and financed the first hip hop artists to a large part.
Watch the video first then comment.

  • Fat Lever

When he’s on the court, does he steal NBA government names too? Like, does is known as Rony Seikly from the time he steps on the court, then transforms back to Rick Ross when he’s in the booth?

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

    That’s sad Mubwar. ;-)
A civic and Rick Ross ;-)

  • tomtom

This is embarrassing, does he really think he can play??? Or is it a joke? He’s not just bad ‘for a fat guy’ cos i know fat guys who can flat out BALL! He is genuinely terrible and, it would seem, deluded.

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

I honestly dont care though. I already know all of that stuff. Just no one cares about those guys. Dont mean to sound disrespectful but yeah. LMAO @Max who said I listen to Wayne or Nicki, bruh my hip-hop taste is just fine

  • alphabeta

They forgot to show the first minute of this footage….

  • dahive

awesome just for the classic nba on nbc signature intro!

  • Jre

Could give 2 F’s if Ross ain’t real If yo music make the 15′s in the Caprice knock then I’m gon listen to you.

You may not know this But I haven’t been in a Strip Club that has played a “Real Hip Hop” song….The day that Happens is the day I stop going to Club Onyx

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

Ross is the hottest rapper but A.I. is still the only person that can get me to wear Reebok’s

  • Valkyrie

Nothing to do with basketball but…it should be illegal to eat yourself into having man titties. Just saying…

  • T-Money

listening to a rawse record is like watching a gangster movie. does it matter that pacino doesn’t kill for fun in real life? nope, not in the least.

L.E. it’s better to have a 04 civic than to hop on the bus like you probably do

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2Pm_5aIavU&feature=g-all-u Max

Being relevant in 2012 doesn’t mean ish, that was what I was trying to say.

  • http://www.google.com/news BETCATS

Officer Ricky should’ve stolen Tractor Traylor’s name instead of that old coke dealer’s. I’m guessing about an hour of him catching his breath was edited out.

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

Nothing bad about your civic, but you listen to a guy that has a fake name talks about drugs, bihachies, money, being the greatest like he invented it and never did anything but rapping with a bad flow to beats somebody else produces for him.
You maybe are way more real than this guy, but you still listen to these stupid lyrics because maybe he has a fat beat, and thats what I am not getting into.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

This dude is wack and the other guy isn’t even guarding him lol wtf. Y’all need Yasiin Bey & Lil Boosie in your life. This coming from a 19 year old, I’m not an old head just so it’s not muddled.

  • alphabeta

Rick Ross’s jersey number is a chicken wing.

  • http://www.slamonline.com house

Lyricly this is so mundane, dude needs to do some situps, fatarse.

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

Thanks mariano and dud for your knowledge. At least these guys did what they talked about and didn’t work as a prison guard after geting out of college after one year throwing away a college football scholarship.
I don’t want to judge, but I don’t hear anything of his real life in his lyrics.

  • http://www.slamonline.com JTaylor21

    I like his game.

  • riggs

sucks at rap and at ball

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

@Redd man you lost me when you mentioned Yasiin Bey, yeah im not trying to be bored to death when im listening to music. But Boosie is that dude though, been jamming Boosie since he was down with Concentration Camp

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

Na, Mos Def doesn’t bore you, that dude keeps it soulful, talks about something, and makes music that is still live.

  • Dash

This is wack, I can’t believe people fall for this fake thug mentality of just getting money now by any means possible. Then they get caught, they want to cry on First 48 or call for their moms. Some cats I know crying every night in Prison, because they realized how dumb they were on the outside. The scene where this fat cat, with no shirt on pants hanging is why this generation is so jacked up. We idolize people like this who think they are something because they rap, but instead of building up, they tear down with inappropriate language in songs stating the Nword and to state God forgives and he don’t is straight madness. His rented jewels and homies and cars are funny, he needs to save up the little money he has, before he gets broke and invest his money. This cat is funny and people actually buy this crap. What is American coming too, when music artists are more valued in society than getting an education. I am Black and to see those young kids go crazy and adopt his mentality is why we need real role models not fake wanana be thug rappers. His music and others just set alot of young bucks back. This crap is Wack. Don’t come of this site alot, but this dude is faking it to make it.

  • Valkyrie

You know rap ain’t ish when cats talking bout Lil Boosie over Mos Def. Anyway, most of it is tolerable when you’re in a club and a chic is backing up all over…well you get my drift. None of this trash makes it on my iPod but it serves its purpose at a party.

  • fruizm

@L.E……Im with you! These guys probably would rather listen to Meek Mill than something like Lost Boyz!

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

Yes….yes I would rather listen to Meek Mill than the Lost Boyz and I dont even like Meek Mill like that. Seriously all those 90′s East Coast rappers are wack to me. Outside of Nas I aint trying to hear that ish. Oh yeah Nas’s new album is f*ckin flames

  • http://www.slamonline.com L.E.

And I don’t want to glorify all this gangster rap from way back. But at least these guys talked about problems in society and their neighbourhoods.
They expressed themselves with this artform.

  • Valkyrie

I feel you. I can’t listen to too much southern stuff myself. There is a way to talk about dumb ish without sounding like you’ve got an I.Q of 55. Only a handful of rappers figured out how to do it.

  • Valkyrie

    That was @Kevin

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

@Valkyrie Oh so you want to pull the East Coast elitist card? Ok I figured that was coming. We’ve been hearing that same argument since Outkast got booed at the 1995 Source Awards.

  • Valkyrie

I’m just stating how things sound to my own ears. FYI, I love OutKast. Always have. They don’t dumb down their music to cater to anyone.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2Pm_5aIavU&feature=g-all-u Max

    Danny Brown, Ab-soul

  • http://www.thesmashbrothas.com zen garden

see his titties jiggle in slow motion

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

Ab-Soul is cool Kendrick and Schoolboy Q are better though.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

I wouldn’t put Boosie over Mos Def, but both are dope. Idk who lost boyz are but Meek Mill is wack. Folks forgetting about Goodie Mob, Outkast, Dead Prez, etc? Bunch of Southern cats who held it down.

  • http://www.slamonline.com 19821982

Is this supposed to be a spoof? Why is the guy on D taking away the drive on someone who wobbles?

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

Yeah Redd I agree about Meek Mill I honestly cant stand that dude. If I want to hear someone yell on a song for no good reason i’ll go listen to my Mystikal No Limit albums.

  • Ranlygeorge

This is a heart attack waiting to happen

  • http://snasty10.tumblr.com/ snasty10

Its hard for me to like officer ricky when he stole a whole guy’s persona then made millions off it, but at the same time his songs bump and he has a nice little flow, either way Black Hippy all day, along with A$AP, Gambino, and Currensy

  • CDaTyrant

Im just curious who some of you all would consider “real” gangster rappers. Curtis because he got shot nine times? Please.

  • Valkyrie

I can’t stand Meek Mill’s music but it’s in line with the trash his label mates put out. Like I said, some ish you can only listen to at a party and that’s because no one is listening to how stupid the music is. Unbforunately rap music is made up primarily of either fools yelling about nothing, or grown men with weird or soft voices talking about nothing. Most aren’t even clever with their stupidity. Just make a dumb noise after you say the same ish on every song. Bingo, a hit.

  • Not rick ross

Man… That is so sorry ballin’ if thats the way he drives a bed, Dang

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

Corny a** troll still using my name…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

ASAP..? Wow, but yeah 50 got 9 bullet wounds, I’m aiming at about 7, I doubt I can reach 9 sadly.

  • Valkyrie

No one is forgetting anything. People just like what they like. Preference alone doesn’t make anyone an elitist.

  • http://snasty10.tumblr.com/ snasty10

    @cddatyrant, Jackie Chain!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

    Then what defines an elitist?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

2Chainz is Bron James of the Rap Game

  • http://bedotwater.bandcamp.com BE.water

Redd did you just put the Mighty Mos and Boosie in the same sentence? the Fkk?

  • http://slamonline.com Chinese Oppenheimer

    Rip to chad butler

  • IndyB

I’m sure you have a dictionary, Redd.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

Yeah I did, is that not ok? Lol stop it.

are you talking about the same 2chainz who used to be known as tittyboi?

  • IndyB

All I can say is it must be a generational thing. Boosie, tho?lmfao

  • aotearaw

Almost as bad as his rap game. You kids class this as hip-hop these days? Eugh.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Redd

I wouldn’t call it hip hop, rather just club music or pop-rap.

  • aotearaw

  • Yesse

I thought this was a one on one in a video game at first.

  • Ali

Man I can’t believe I watched 2 minutes of this vid, WUUUUWEEE, my stomach is hurting, I can’t stop laughing at this clown. I remember this clown when he was with Trick Daddy, Trina and that Slip N’ Slide crew, now he’s claiming to be the best thing since sliced bread. I’ve never bought into the 305 gangsterim he’s dropping. As my man Ed Lover would say, C’mon Son! Getdaf***outtaherewitdatbullshi*…

  • Rik Smits Mullet

  • Fat Lever

    Rozay is an Accident Baller-er.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Rapper AZ also took his name from a former gangster, Azie. Ace from “Paid in Full” was based on this guy. It must have been pretty awkward though, since the gangster AZ also became a rapper during the early ’90s and had a group called Mobstyle. loool. Youtube the track “What’s Going On?” by Azie (also spelled AZ) of Mobstyle–it’s really quite good.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Gucci Pucci plays defense like Antwan Jamison.

  • slamthis

Stan Van Gundy would take this fake baller to the school yard 101. SVG’s handles alone would give Rozaay a heart attack.
