Lakers ‘Welcome’ Adam Morrison

Welcome to L.A., Adam: “The Lakers’ UCLA alumni club did its best to make Adam Morrison feel welcome – so to speak. Morrison arrived at the Lakers’ practice facility Monday, a day after being acquired from Charlotte in a trade, to find a picture taped to his locker. There was Morrison, sobbing, moments after his Gonzaga Bulldogs had been eliminated from the 2006 NCAA Tournament by Jordan Farmar’s UCLA Bruins. ‘I have a suspect,’ Morrison said with a smile. ‘I knew I would get some flak for that, coming to L.A.’”

they should’ve taped his game log to his locker

  • Jackie Moon

@Darksaber – just making fun of Kobe’s supposed reputation as a jerk. It was probably Ariza or Farmar, more likely Farmar since he actually played against Mustachio in that game.

Lol very nice way to welcome someone in. I bet Jordan Farmar will never get the ball passed to him from Adam in a game. Oh wait Adam doesn’t play…..

I’ll never forget the time our basketball coach called him Andrew Morrison. It shows you that even when he was in college his performance was forgettable.

^6-0 road trip while beating an undefeated team at home and knocking off the defending champs in their own house. Yep, they’ve totally fallen off.

  • Nate James

haha its better than vlad rod. i mean adam has potential. it will be nice to see him go far.
even on a weak team he rode the bench tho.

  • Mid-range

In a ways I’m glad he came on board, but he will definitely be a bench warmer. The only impact he will get is when he gets out there on the floor, cause if he can’t earn his way up for minutes Phil will yank him out in a minute and won’t hear the end of it. To Adam, you better make the best of it. And play some defense DAMMIT!

I really hope he gets playing time against OKC tonight, if you know what I mean.

He should retaliate by putting a picture of Mickey Mouse on Farmar’s locker.

a high lottery pick traded for a contract dump? Its almost time, if not past time, to label him a bust

  • wilz

    LOLLLLLL @ Anton

  • Waylonakolipse

I think labeling Adam a bust is an understatement. Joe Smith, Tim Thomas, Olowakandi are busts. Adam is so bad Jordan should be fired for drafting him.

And with that, Anton is now my favourite commentator on SLAMonline.

Considering what Phil Jackson has done with such players as Bill Wennington, Steve Kerr and Jud Beuchler I dont see a problem with Adam Morrison being here – this is probably the best sort for him, or Utah where they run a very established passing game – the triangle offense can make the meekest of ball players valuable. Just at Luc Longely and Jud Beuchler’s contract amounts when they left the bulls in 99! Phil will use him, if he hits his open shots and makes the transition to the triangle there wont be a problem here. I just want to see him on the court again.

  • LAalltheway

Morrison and Lakers 2nd round pick in 09 and 11 for joe smith. This will help LA win now and win later. Thunder gets picks and another year to see if Adam can still ball.
