Knicks and Blazers Want the Charles Oakley Experience

And, really, who doesn’t?: “Meanwhile, Charles Oakley is under consideration by Donnie Walsh to help big men get down and dirty at the defensive end. Does that mean the Knicks president is unhappy with how easy and how often opponents scored last season? My second question is, how do you teach bringing intimidation and intensity to work every time you get on the court? Oakley also was contacted by Portland officials who suspect it might be good for the team’s health if a trace of his brutish attitude rubbed off on Greg Oden.”

This would result in the Knicks’ bigs curling up into balls and crying.

YES! BRING IN THE OAK TREE!

Not one player, coach, owner, fan or vendor talked about his talent or skills. It’s all about his heart, hustle and desire. Exactly, how do you transfer that into another player. Oak knew his role; but that’s a bitter pill for some folks who dream of stardom to accept. And really, do you want him teaching Oden how to be MORE physical. He’d foul out in warm ups!

are we really at the ‘revolutionary state’ of the NBA where old people will be brought in to teach young people how not to be a pu$$y?

At first glance I thought the Knicks and Blazers wanted to be punched in the face.

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Jun.19 at 4:40 pm
the nba’s minister of face punching might be called in for direct tutelage

LOL at B. Long. Yeah, Oak had forearms of steel.

While Portland’s at it, Oden could stand a youth transfusion from Oakley.

Oakley was very good at shooting 18-foot jumpers, beating and scaring the crap out of opponents and, late in his career, throwing alleyoops to vince

Must be nice to have an old team legend to come in and help his former team. Maybe eventually Rasho Nesterovic will be on the bench helping the Wolves big men do whatever it is Rasho does. haha
