Elton Brand: Ready to Deliver

Well, he says he is. It’s not clear how many people believe him: ”I’m excited to be healthy, I’m excited to add to the team,’ Brand admitted. ‘Two first-round [playoff] losses the last 2 years for a young team is OK, but I was brought in here to go farther than that and that’s my goal and that’s what I’ve been thinking about the entire offseason.’ Draped in the new uniform, you couldn’t help but think Brand wants to show his game is back – when he was averaging 20.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in those eight seasons prior to injuries.”

EB is the man…with a miller gone, him and iggy are going to both average about 20 ppg….they will be one of the most consistant duos in the league. Watch out

I like him and want him to come back at least as good as he was, but remember everyone HE WENT TO DUKE!!!!!!!!!!!

    I hope he’s back, he’s a solid player.

I still love this guy. He really is all heart, Philly fans are blessed to have a guy with his skills that goes full tilt every single play. I do not know if 20-10-2 is still in his future with Thad Young developing, but should still be 16-8-2 guy, and along with Thad the Sixers have a better low post than every team in the East sans Bos and Orl

    You forgot toronto, and clev

  • BETCATS Posted: Sep.24 at 3:24 pm
Deliver what? He is ready to pick up where he stopped last year: disrupting chemistry and getting the coach fired.

  • onlyclipfanonslam Posted: Sep.24 at 3:30 pm
After Shaq who does Cle have in the low post? I hope you don’t include pick and pop Big Z. He is a good player but not a low post presence. Toronto does have Bosh, but again Bargs is really not a low post player. Those teams can not match the depth that Orlando, Boston, and Philly has in the low post, offensively and defensively. IMO Boston is the only team with the depth up front to match the Lakers trio of Pau, Drew, and LO.

Just another victim of the Duke curse. Yet somehow Shane Battier hasn’t been affected…unless you count losing all your teammates to injury.

    Enigmatic: Boozer?

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 6:40 pm
big z might not be the most appealing guy, but come on, he is about 7’2” and can drill jumpshots with regularity. And varejo is a defensively effective prescence. Shot blocking and boards may not be clev. Specialty, but they make up for it in other ways.

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 6:43 pm
And if bargnani can do what dirk does, he is a low post presence, by drawing centers and pf’s out of the paint, then the low post becomes open for slashin guards like derozan

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 6:47 pm
Includin west teams, you gotta have sa’s duncan, mcdyees, blair, ratliff combination

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 6:49 pm
Also denvers birdman, nene, kmart combo ain’t too bad. Min is gettin there with al jeff, love, and those wizards they got in the trade

I hope EB has a good season. Whatever happened to the recovery of Livingston?

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 7:20 pm
Livingston was in okc last time I checked. Sad story bout him, but that’s the way the business goes.

  • Lucas Posted: Sep.24 at 7:20 pm
Yea Brand should do fine, he’ll strive in this kind of offense. I just hope his defense is as on-point as the days of a Clipper.

  • la huey Posted: Sep.24 at 8:10 pm
WE DON’T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE! I hope he understands that they better get that 4th or 5th seed out East if they want a chance at the 2nd round.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.24 at 8:31 pm
    rog123 – Brand is like 6’8 man.

  • TW Posted: Sep.24 at 8:55 pm
My hands are in the air like I just don’t care on this one. The real problem is our Center.

  • rog123 Posted: Sep.24 at 9:50 pm
So what if he’s 6’8″? What does that gotta do with anythin?

  • rikson Posted: Sep.25 at 7:04 am
One of the sickest turn arounds in the zone….. His point of release is just crazy – waaayyyy above his head

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.25 at 11:16 am
Right, because he’ll TOTALLY disrupt the chemistry of an already horrible team. They don’t even have a point guard! I don’t get it when people complain about a player disrupting chemistry, when that team is ALREADY bad in the first place. Elton Brand is the BEST basketball player on the Sixers right now, if they don’t take a chance on him just what are they going to do? Well they have Andre Miller–woops nevermind.

The sixers still dont have shooters though..
