Jerry Sloan Returning for 23rd Season

Sloan dares time to try and stop him. Understandably, time wants no part of Ol’ Jerry: “Jazz coach Jerry Sloan has signed a deal to return next year for his 23rd season as Utah’s head coach. The team announced the deal Wednesday. The 67-year-old Sloan, inducted into the Hall of Fame in September, is the longest-tenured active coach in major professional sports.”

Is he the only NBA coach to get inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame without ever winning the “Coach of the Year” award? Not including the ones who went in before there was an award, of course…

@Blue, look at the track record for the COTY award. Winning it is never a good sign of things to come.

He should coach until he retires because I can’t see him getting fired.

How about letting Mike d’Antoni run the Jazz for just a year. Just as an experiment.
