Marcus Camby Injures Ankle

Everyone predicted this would happen when Marcus came to Portland. The good news is that it’s not deemed serious: “Camby was hurt when Nets center Brook Lopez stepped on his ankle as both waited for a rebound a little more than 5 minutes after the opening tip. X-rays were negative and coach Nate McMillan did not think the injury was serious. ‘I contested a shot [by Devin Harris] and I think Lopez stepped on my ankle,’ Camby said. ‘My momentum went the other way. It is pretty sore right now.’ Camby was acquired on Feb. 16 from the Los Angeles Clippers for Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw and cash considerations because of season-ending injuries to centers Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla. ‘Hey, Camby, welcome to Portland,’ McMillan said referring to the Trail Blazers’ injury-plagued season. ‘It’s amazing what our guys are going through. I think he’s going to be OK.”‘

Has anyone else noticed how a lot of the deadline-day trades are getting injured? Josh Howard out for the season (I know he was slightly before the deadline), T-Mac struggling with his knee again, and now Camby with this. Didn’t Brewer get injured in his first game too?

Basketball Gods hate the Pacific Northwest

Darius Miles hexed them. Remember how portland tried to screw him? yeah, sorry blazers. but to be fair, marcus is always getting hurt.

yeah, we up here in the Pacific NW could have been watching Durant and the Sonics and Roy and the Blazers for a decade. instead we have one team, and they can barely field a roster because of injuries. not sure what we did to the aforementioned basketball gods, but i’m betting it had something to do with The Nanny Stopper…

  • The D Train

also, i refuse to capitalize “basketball gods” until they start being nice to us
