Lamar Odom Called Out By Phil Jackson

Jackson says that Lamar needs to step up his play on the offensive end, which Lamar agrees with. What’s funny is the dismissive nature of his response to Phil’s comments (make sure to check out the L.O. video clip after clicking the link from the LA Times): “Though his plus-minus rating currently stands at (-)1 in the postseason, Odom says he’s not worried about his those performances because that snapshot only reflects two games. Odom also appears to agree with Jackson on what he needs to do to what he called leaving an ‘imprint on the ballgame.’ Here’s what both Jackson and Odom said when I asked them how he could do that. ‘It’s an understanding what the game is,’ Jackson said. ‘Opportunities are going to be in shots and little things like that. Probably pockets he finds in penetration … as well as the ball movement he can create in penetration.’ ‘I just want to get myself going offensively and find my shot,’ Odom said. ‘Play in my rhythm, play in my space and my comfort zone.”

“…and I want him to lay off the Raspberry Twists?!” Jackson may not have added…

standard for phil and lamar, but basically, it’s match ups. okc is a bunch of lamars with fresher, younger legs. lo will be more useful in later rounds against teams with girth and real size

    that’s news?

No more excuses for Odom, last time I checked you play BBall by defending, rebounding and if the scoring is not there that’s ok….how you think Rodman was so great….please no more excuses for Odom. As a Laker fan, I don’t think we can win the title until he becomes tough and makes an effort to push people around and get physical. I don’t think is a match up issue. How about it’s a lazy issue.

Fphil wants Lamar to find his pockets and play with his balls while being penetrated? When will this sick slavemaster isht end? Also, Fphil seems to be pulling out the stops early (criticize Kobe, criticize Lamar). Will he have anything left for the next series?

Just read the full article. Anyone else find it funny when Fphil says, “You suck, so I’m going to be giving you more minutes”?

Phil’s been calling out Lamar ever since the two were on the same team. He should start calling out Khloe, see where that gets him.
