Video: Big Baby Celebrates, Drools

by Marcel Mutoni / @marcel_mutoni

It was the Celtics’ turn to have an unlikely hero (or two) last night, as Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Nate Robinson took over Game 4 down the stretch, and helped even up the NBA Finals.

With Andrew Bynum unable to play much of the second half due to his ballooning knee, Davis dominated the paint (18 points, 5 boards, including 4 offensive ones), and had the signature moment of the game. Which, of course, involved a lot of drool:

“This is what legends are made of, this is where you grasp the moment,” Davis said. “Just play in the moment.”

What is sure to be a classic Game 5 is slated for Sunday night in Boston.

that was not a good look.

so thi pretty much LOCKS in his ‘big baby’ name for all eternity.

  • JoeMaMa

Are we sure that isn’t just a really big tear? We know how Big Baby can get with his emotions!!!

i love Big Baby’s energy, but everyone needs to realize that besides being an energy guy, he can really play too. he’s got a reliable 15-foot jump shot, some good spin moves down low, and a soft touch around the basket. also, i love that he got the nickname Big Baby BEFORE he cried on the sidelines and started drooling in a game.

    Wow that’s nasty.

  • http://twitter.com/HarryByrdMan44 LA Huey

@letsmotor, his ability to score in traffic is among the league’s best. There was one shot he made could only have been enabled by glitch in the Matrix.

  • peter

I hate to say it, but BB is eating LO alive in the post…its depressing to watch him dominate so much while the big 3 are being effectively shut down

LA Fans Wish Baby Had Been Aborted

    Drool, Baby, drool.

  • LD

He seriously needs to star as a monster in a horror movie. He can play himself even in his celtics jersey. Tha guy was scary as hell.

  • MikeC.

It was just as freaky watching it live. My girlfriend, who isn’t a bball fan, looked up from her book while Baby was ‘celebrating’ and said “What the hell is wrong with that fat guy?” I almost fell off the couch.

  • kudos

It’s safe to say that Big baby is the most disgusting man alive. But forreal tho, almost all of his 16(?) points came off of driving on LAMAR ODOM. ODOM HAS no freaking defense. All he does is put his hands straight up, like he has no idea that if he jumped more than an inch he would block the fat man’s layup. -

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ niQ

You guys should post the video of Pierce punching the ref in last night’s game.. LOL

  • http://Www.lkuy.cn Darksaber

Between this, the real KG returning (clapping in Lamar’s face on D, knocking on the floor, general look of insanity) and Nate posing under Lamar’s armpit (notice a pattern here?) AND irritating the hell outta Kobe on a box out late in the 4th, methinks game 5 is gonna give us a bucketload of animosity. Enjoying the life outta this series

  • http://Www.lkuy.cn Darksaber

    niQ: that was hilarious!

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

If the Celtics keep playing with Baby’s/Nate’s type of ferocity, they will win this series. Nobody on the Lakers have the balls to stand up to them when sh*t get’s physical….not even Ron has tried to instill his will/intimidation on anyone, which is incredibly surprising 4 games in.

  • Hangtime Hec

hahaha. Thats the video of Pierce punching the ref

  • dookie

And to think that people have said that this rivalry has been played out…

  • Ronald

Bah, there is no rivalry between them. Any series with the Celtics is going to cause some controversy. They are that kinda team. Any real animosity would be between Ron Ron and the Celtics but that’s just because he’s crazy.

The fact is that other than Bynum, the Laker bigs are soft. Baby just throws that weight around and they bounce off him like pinballs. He does need to work on his left hand though. It amazes me how he manages to make a reverse layup from right to left with his right hand like he did on that spin move.

  • http://www.twitter.com/dfrance21 dfrance21

And if Mike Breen mentions how Big Baby is so “agile and athletic for a man his size” one more time i’m gonna puke.

  • slawson

    Baby Got Back!

  • Robb

    such a disgusting pig…

  • Babygab

Now that’s the kind of energy and passion I’m expecting from the Celtics. To be honest I turned my TV off with 8 minutes to go in the third. Celtics were playing like they didn’t care. I don’t give a f#%k big baby was drooling, he came to our rescue and I really hope that his attitude and energy rubs off on the rest of the team for next game. Celtics need to be the aggressor. If we can manage to take the next one then we’ll be champions !

  • Kap

The only laker big soft is Lamar Odom who got punked by Davis last night. I say put Artest on Davis to box him out when he is on the court. @Eboy…you proclaiming the Lakers cannot respond to the physicality is ridiculous when they only lost bc of hustle not bc of being punked except for Odom.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

Uhm…unless every time Baby went up and snatched boards and knocked guys out of his way is not some form of physicality……..

  • BostonBaller

  • JalepinoSausage

He who Drools First. Drools least not LAST !!!

  • Yesse

    The baby is angry.

  • Kap

@Eboy…I said except for Odom. I blame Odom along with Nate and Big Baby for the loss last night.

  • Javy

Odom gets me so f****ing upset! I remember watching him on the clippers and I said to myself, he’s soft but one day he’ll become a great tough player!!!yeah right!!
Without Bynum, it will be hard to beat them!
Unless Odom decides to get his hands dirty and change some diapers!
My chick said that Baby looks like a maniac, crazy serial killer!!!Funny because when he talks, he sounds girly!…nothing girly about his game tough.

  • http://www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com Tarzan Cooper

Bostonballer has no comment, ha. Freaky shit in theese finals, first kobe kicks tony in the neck, then paul punches the ref. What was incredible was none of the announcers caught it, or just didnt mention it at all. Freak plays, nothing dirty

  • Kap

LA looked tired in the fourth. I think its because they could not rely on anyone in their bench last nite. They better give it their all game 5 bc they do not wanna go home down 3-2 with this Celtics team. LA really has figured out how to stop the starters if only they could stop Big Baby and Nate then LA would not have any problem but Odom doesn’t like getting dirty and looks for a foul everytime he goes up with Big Baby for a rebound.

  • http://slamonline.com JL

who knew stopping big baby would be the key to the series

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

No doubt Odom was the main culprit, but Baby was bodying up Gasol and snatching rebounds from him as well. Like the announcers said, Baby can finish over one seven-footer a lot easier than two.

  • http://www.dimemag.com Royal

Hopefully our frontcourt players watch film of Big Baby B!tching us and we make some adjustments. It’s funny how something as simple as boxing out can be the difference between a Win and a loss.

  • http://www.twitter.com/dfrance21 dfrance

@Kap So you don’t think Gasol is soft? Because Davis bodied him and Odom up a few times under those boards. The Lakers frontline, with the exception of Bynum, and I guess Artest if you want to add him, is soft. At least Bynum would foul him and not let him get a shot off. Gasol and Odom see Big Baby coming, and they bounce the other way.

  • Jose

Big Baby Dribble eww. haha. no lie that dudes so much better now than in ’08. good thing the C’s kept him

  • truthteller

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Big Baby is fast becoming a favorite player of mine in this league. Hilarious, and plays with heart, and he isn’t afraid to get physical. Reminds me a lot of an undersized ’90s power-forward.

it’s so sweet supporting the sixers and being able to watch the finals neutrally. the man just uses will and determination to get it done.

  • Jake

I hate the Celtics so much it hurts. How did it come to this?

  • Kurino

Like last year’s Nike CM. The kid was stomach growlin’ hungry!

  • The Philosopher

One has to respect a kid who wears their heart on their sleeve like Glen Davis.

  • http://nba.com S.Man

Glen Davis is a turtle from outer space!

  • aotearaw

Nate’s posturing after every successful dribble past half-court is f*cking tiresome.

  • JD

    This is the top story?

  • Rikson

Yeah lets hype this kid! Let’s ignore the fact that bynum was out the 2nd half! Let’s ignore the fact that he played an sf! BTW Baby got 5 rebounds…. Sounds like an allstar… And its those fans who accuse others of jumping on a bandwagon!

  • http://www.twitter.com/retepadam Peter Nygaard

This is why I hate Fat Antoine Walker.

  • http://www.springbored.net letsmotor

@Rikson: 5 rebounds in 22 minutes is pretty good, especially since 4 of them were offensive rebounds, and most of them led to an immediate basket. and no one’s saying he’s an all star, just that he’s a good player who’s repeatedly stepped up when he’s needed. i don’t see what’s wrong with giving him some credit.

  • http://www.nba.com/suns Dacre

Often times babies will drool excessively when they have new teeth coming through….

  • Clay

LA Huey, to say Davis is one of the best at finishing in traffic in the entire NBA is not even close to being true. He’s actually poor at it most games. He had a layup on one occasion which he basically just threw off the back board. He’s definitely a good player, but don’t make statements like that after one game where he finishes well at the rim.
