Danny Granger Not Enjoying Europe’s Smells

According to Granger (via, of course, Twitter), the B.O across the pond is unbearable. Yikes: “im dying over here…. how come nobody in europe wears deodorant? guess they didnt get the memo … smellin like dead donkeys… no joke”

Why do the “you might be interested in” links ALways show up on top of the damn article.

Turkey is not purely a european country, it is eurasian country, it is a huge land, and has customs and culture which differ from customs in France, Germany, Sweden and to call everything european is wrongful generalization, but anyway it is too offensive to comment stuff like this, you are a public figure, restrain yourself from similar comments even if you dislike something as it sounds really insulting

Danny Granger aka Durantula-3000 didn’t sweat a lot in yesterday’s game, that’s for sure: DNP, all the way!

Eh yo Donkey Dan! You know what also stinks so bad?… YOUR Pacers!
So you’d better shut your tweet trap & focus a lil’ in case you get some PT… maybe against Iran?!? LMAO

sigh Danny Danny Danny…. anyways, I’m dutch, and yes, we do wear deodorant. That’s like me being in the U.S. and saying: wow, are all Americans fat? Of course they aren’t. Now I’ve never been to Turkey, don’t know what’s going on there.

Ive Been in a subway car in France…HE AINT LYING

  • ConeyIslander

Hey, I’m in NYC, you come across many walking corpses daily! lol

  • Backboard

wow. granger put His Foot in His mouth! what a pr!ck

  • Irfan

    What a stupid racist!
The same can be said about ENDS.

  • Yesse

What a diva. Is he like the Paris Hilton of basketball?

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ niQ

I bet he also doesn’t enjoy his playing time so far. On another note, is it that hard to put on deodorant? (I almost typed deoDURANT. LOL)

  • BigCountry

I love how all the European’s in this comment section are getting their panties in a bunch…

The truth hurts! Most public places out there with heavy human traffic smell like shit due to poor hygiene practices in Europe. Harsh but true.

I’ve been in Turkey, in ’04, and there’s nothing wrong there… I’ve been in NY too, in ’98, and man, I still remenber a huge dude asking for money in the subway… worst smell of my life… I still think he had shit in his pants or something… but I guess racist granger would prefer it, as the guy was black…

  • JTaylor21

His right. Europeans think it’s fashionable to not wear deodorant. Bunch of racist panzies.

  • T-Money

Mmm but americans ARE fat. America is dealing with a juge obesity problem. Ive been everywhere in western Europe and i ‘ll just say that north americans take more care of their body (scent, body hair, lifting, tanning, etc)

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

Guess somebody missed cultural sensitivity classes. Not that a lot of people ‘joke’ about this behind closed doors, but to go out and tweet about it – stupid. That’s the way to make sure you’re not invited back to world games or olympics.

  • http://www.acb.com Alan

as european, the worst smell I’ve smelled was in a NY subway train, by a man asking for money… but I don’t think that’s normal. Racist granger isn’t normal neither, I guess he’s just mentally handicapped…

  • funkdoc

Granger is really not needed on this squad. He doesn’t bring anything to the table other than Durant. His game is similar to Durant’s but not as good, so I understand the DNPs.

Also, he needs to keep his mouth shut. I believe he’s right, Turkish people often don’t wear deodorant, but most Europeans do. I mean, what a generalisation is that? Turkey is the least european country of all, just look at the politics behind the European Union and Turkey debate. And besides, he’s a public figure, so he needs to shut up. He’s making a zillion dollars a year and yet he feels he should complain about the smell? I’d be the happiest man in the world if I could sit on the bench to represent your country in a smelly arena. Think about that. Also, deoDurant must be the best unintented joke ever. Although I think there’s probably a deocompany he thought about it first to use Durant for the marketing.

  • http://www.hbo.com/the-wire/index.html jasondolemite

Not really a big deal, but no way to represent USA by lumping together a group of people in a negative comment. I don’t think he would appreciate if someone said something negative about all black people. This scrub needs to play some D in order to earn playing time and respect.

yes alan comparing all of new york to one bum you meet on the train is not the same as what granger just said….idiot.

  • Yulenevano

Although some black people are hypersensitive to some comments for the most part we’re immune to it. Probably because we’ve been the most hated yet imitated race of people in recent history. Like the last 500 or so years at least give or take.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Is European a RACE?! Good Lord. Let’s all gather around, hold hands, and STFU.

  • A l a n

@RIGGS as I said, I DON’T think that smell was normal… it was just one man with terrible smell, I understand the difference between him and the rest of NY people… I was pointing the difference between one man’s smell and the regular people how takes a shower daily… I get it, granger don’t. and you don’t, neither…idiot

  • total scrotal implosion

U nincompoops call him a racist for that? Dummies. This is a nothing story, kinda funny, partly true.

  • tavoris

is he supposed to just suffer quietly when there are crowds of smelly people around? Get off his case…he just made an observation.

  • Andrew

I’m European, I live in Italy and I actually use deodorant, just like most people I know. Let’s not generalize.

  • ab_40

It’s ramadan. Some people don’t shower for the full 30 days yes no showering or washing for 30 days. I was in Istanbul once as well and it was also ramadan. People were grumpy. But what he should care about is eric gordon taking his spot in the rotation.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    I’m curious…
How exactly does making a comment about smells in Europe equate to “racism” and make Granger a “racist.”
Unless I missed something, there was no mention of race, and Europeans are not all one race.
Methinks some of you Europeans need a crash course in racism, particularly the cat who thought Granger would like a stinking black man better because the guy was black.
    Your hoods are showing.

  • http://Www.lkz.net Darksaber

Like Stewie lukes to say: ‘what the deuce’?

@ab_40 “some people do not shower for the full 30 days”? haha funny google it boy at least google it

  • http://www.yamahyouth.com Germs

Slamonline.com; ‘where from deodorant to racism happens’

  • tavoris

NYC Subways stink like hell too, but that would be a similar generalization to say the US smells like that.

  • backboard

why the fukk are non of my comments showing up!! FUkk this, slamonline is such a joke!!!

  • backboard

and this one shows up, of course. pffffffffffff

  • Fábio

It is complicated… I lived 3 years in Madrid…man there “the kid cries and the mom does not see” the closed enviroments are terrible and some people there not only has a deodorant as enemy but the dental cream too…once time i passed by a gym and the smell… you guys cannot imagine.

  • Lith

Danny Granger is fu…g n…ga! Yuo stink as a SHIT!

  • Chris

    Get real, my friends!
There are people who smell or don’t shower or whatever everywhere. Anyone claiming how the Americans shower so much more etc. should come to Germany, Sweden, England or France. I’ve seen many more dirty and smelly people in the US than I see over here. And those weren’t all bums.
Oh, and don’t even get started on the teeth… there’s not anywhere near as many people with teeth missing or fouling teeth as there are in the States…

  • Ballack

Well i was born in Europe and lived there for 17 years and i have been in Usa for 11 years now. Every once in awhile you came across smelly people in Europe and Usa too! He’s just being stupid and trying to be funny ,but not working.

  • Speedracerfursion

I work in a restaurant in a city driven by tourism… Most of our tourists come from Europe… Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Britain, etc, etc…. It seems to be a personal choice more than anything. The people that do seem to “smell” more natural than others are said to stink…. I don’t think like this, it’s just a different way to smell… I’m not offended or repulsed…. I think I’d rather smell a small amount of natural odor than to smell a gallon of perfume that some people seem to wear at all time…. It’s not a Europe thing either, there are people from all over whom don’t use deodorant, perfume, cologne or bathe every day…. Just my two cent….

  • Nicole

My boyfriend is Turkish and he wears deodorant, it’s not a country wide type choice, it’s personal.
