Udonis Haslem’s Marijuana Charges Dropped

Udonis, his attorney and the Miami Heat are all very happy today. Reports the Sun-Sentinel:  “Udonis Haslem has been vindicated,’ Attorney Eric Schwartzreich told the Sun Sentinel after receiving word Thursday that the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s office had ruled the case a no-action. According to the no-action memo from Assistant State Attorney Errol Portman all five counts against Haslem were dropped by reason of ‘cannot prove possession.’ The summary of the no-action memo reads, ‘while there was probable cause for the arrest of Udonis Haslem . . . the State could not prove Udonis Haslem’s knowledge or possession of the cannabis beyond a reasonable doubt.’”

And I will rise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bare the shame of the heathen anymore.

Can’t charge two people in the same car with two different types of possession charges.
    Just bad policing.

Wade is probably planning a celebration party as we speak.

What crime did he and his buddies commit in the first place.

“Probable cause” is the best possible way to describe this situation.

He is a weed head and it will catch up with him anyway. It’s funny how money can buy people off, because if it was me or you in that car we are going downtown, but since he is a NBA role player he stills has some pull. BOOK IT!!!

  • JoeMaMa

@The Philosopher: I’m a little confused, guy. You quote bible verses, but then talk about LeBron being the King. It’s one or the other, if I’m not mistaken….but you can’t do both.

  • JTaylor21

In my chris crocker voice; LEAVE PHILOSOPHER ALONE!!!

  • The Philosopher

    @JoMaMa:
One can argue that for believers, God has blessed The Masses with many kings, in many forms.
In some households, the patriarch is considered the king. “King of the household”, so to speak.
Some cultures regard and worship animals as “kings”, and are passionate about it.
In England there is the Royal Family, and they claim to believe in God.
For believers, one can argue that kings would not have ever existed without the Finger of God.
God appoints kings, gentiles regard them.
Now, many of the mass regard LeBron James as the king.(of basketball) Believers and non believers alike, rejoice in his kingly magnificence.
So, in essence, we can do it both ways, depending on one’s own interpretation.

the judge should have held an hour long televised special to announce this.

I’m not a smoker, but I do think weed should be legalized. Now, having said that, as an athlete, isn’t smoking weed like smoking cigarettes in terms of wind? I mean, wouldn’t it impact your conditioning and lung capacity. I know weed doesn’t have contain all the toxins that cigarettes do, but smoking is smoking, right? Help me out, my athlete/smoking buddies.

  • dsleepy

    um….about that bible verse….what?…

i know you were prob. just putting that there to be funny because it makes it sound like the bible is referencing weed, but if you look up dif. translations of that same passage, the word “plant” is replaced with the word “land.” i don’t have the original hebrew in front of me so its not like i can decipher the true text but i believe that particular verse is just making reference to a flock of sheep being provided for, as in plant = food, land = nourishment (farming, crops). and anyway weed doesn’t make you less hungry, it makes you more hungry :-) .

    happy friday folks.

  • JoeMaMa

@the philosopher. You had me at “kingly magnificence”.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Good answer Philosopher, that’s what I would have said.
    Good comment Dsleepy.

  • http://twitter.com/HarryByrdMan44 LA Huey

@Cheryl, it’s not necessarily the toxins, it’s the tar. Tobacco’s got a ton of that.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

In all honesty, it’s the “legal weed” that should be ILLEGAL, while the REAL weed should be legal. Anyone smoking that “legal weed” is asking to be a Darwin Award winner. BOOK IT!

  • abaci

@Cheryl I think that it has to affect them, at least a little.

  • BRAVO

THIS IS WHY I LOVE THE MIAMI HEAT! THEYGET CAUGHT FOR BLAZING AND NOTHING HAPPENS. NOW THE WHOLE TEAM SHUD SMOKE UP AND NO SUSPENION MADE!

  • http://www.dontevenreply.com total scrotal implosion

Cheryl, smoking anything is bad for your lungs. Orange, CO SIGN! That k2 or k3 ish will kill you, all kinds of synthetic chemicals that havent been fully tested. ….. Legalize it, I will advertize it.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

    Eboy
Whats up with the hostility, I feel Barnes probably did beat up his girl, but she is not pressing charges. Haslem is a weed head, how you think he lost all that weight from college to the NBA, just joking, but charges got dropped and that is because he plays in the NBA. Where Charges get Dropped Happens. BOOK IT!!!

  • http://www.google.com/news BETCATS

^Weed head? Somebody is gonna spray Roundup on his head and catch a body. The Seed: Where Capitalize Every other Word in The last Sentence happens.

  • ClydeSays

Depends on how much you smoke really. Most ppl can’t afford to smoke weed like cigs. But athletes…

  • mubwar

hey i dont see what’s wrong with smoking herbs, then again im canadian and no one cares about it in here. good to see Haslem free cause the heat need a backup for Bosh…lets go 2011 champs
