Baron Davis: Injured Since 2007

Yesterday, word came down L.A. was looking to deal Baron Davis. Apparently it also came down that B. Diddy’s been hurting since 2007. Fanhouse has the 4-1-1: “Baron Davis insists criticism he’s gotten recently for not playing doesn’t bother him. Still, he wants it to be known he’s been hurting awhile… Well, try nearly four years. Davis said he’s continued to have problems with his left knee ever since he had arthroscopic surgery Feb. 13, 2007 while with Golden State. ‘It was during that year when I came back from the injury, and then we went on the run,’ said Davis, who returned March 5 that season and helped the Warriors to a shocking 4-2 first-round upset over defending West champion Dallas. ‘Then in the summer it flared up a lot and then the next year we just kind of monitored it and it would swell up a couple of days. We were able to kind of treat it, and kind of get it out of the way. I ended up playing in all 82 (games in 2007-08). Then the first year (with the Clippers in 2008-09) it came back in L.A. toward the end of the season. And last year it came back toward the end of the season. It just during (last summer) kept coming back and back. … Every year it just flares. It’s just annoying. It’s like no matter what I do, I have no control over it.’”

Excuses excuses….sorry Baron but why haven’t you said anything before now?

  • JTaylor21

The clipps are a much better team with Bledsoe running the point, EG handling the scoring load, BG beasting on the block and Kaman banging down lown. BDiddy your time is up partna!

  • Hammer

Not surprised. He’s always had sum kind of injury seems like the past 4 or 5 seasons. Although I wouldn’t say that’s the reason of his poor play

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

    cosign Seth

  • rich

he just needs some time off period. step away from all the high impact exercise for 2 3 months do some swimming and he will be fine. he just hasnt because he has to live up to that big contract he has

  • Zeiramsy

Bledsoe is beastly, just a ready, business like pg, kind of like Maynor (he really needs a starting job). It´s crazy how a lot of teams don´t have a worthy starting pg and these two are on bench duty. Although I guess Bledsoe won´t be for too long.

@Seth-Bledsoe’s gonna TAKE his job, but steal it.
@Rich-Baron ain’t played hard in four years…what time off does he need?

I had knee surgery in fall 2007 and every couple months it will flare up. I know what it feels like. It sucks. It is only a matter of time before it becomes Bledsoe’s team. Whether Baron is healthy or hurt!

Making bad decisions with the ball since 1999.

  • ClydeSays

Eh. Ok. But why is this coming up now that you want to be traded/your team wants to trade you.? Bad timing BD.I bet if he dropped some weight the knee would feel better….

The sudden baron hate just shows the groupthink going on. Baron never said anything about this before cuz no one cared.

He’s hindering that teams progress big time! He needs to be dealt or benched permanently.

    old age sucks

I still want Baron on the team. Even if it is the ole of highly overpaid mentor. Baron can probably give a good 20-25 a game. I expect this to be his role when he can play. Bledsoe didn’t take Baron’s job, he most likely took Randy Foye’s job as backup 1

  • Yes.We.Did.

Ah, so your knee hurts starts to hurt AFTER you sign a big @$$ contract? Sounds like someone needs to get some arthroscopic surgery on that ego.

  • onlyclipsfanonslam

@Yes.We.Did nope he said it started hurting while in GS

B-Diddy fu*kin up. They not gonna be able to trade him now, if they weren’t before.

Penny, then Tracy McGrady, then Baron, next Gilbert. Leg-Joint injuries ruin careers.

  • Hussman25

Baron’s knee hasn’t been the same since he first tore it @ UCLA! It’s never been right after that. So basically he’s played most if not all of his career on 1 leg… He’s still a pretty good 1 legged NBA Player; but his conditioning has never been the best. To me tho Diddy isnt the issue, it’s the coach!
