Andrew Bynum Out With Bone Bruise on Left Knee

Uh oh, more trouble in Lakerland … : “Andrew Bynum will not play tonight due to a bone bruise on his left knee (revealed in MRI). He’s listed as day-to-day. Phil Jackson said it happened at some point of the Boston game; Bynum is sore, but there is no structural damage.”

It was only a matter of time…

This isn’t news… now if Crynum had tripped over and busted his knee whilst visiting the Kardashians with Odom and checking out Kim then THATS a story….

  • http://slamonline.com kap

sigh…Everytime I argue for this guy he just lets me down. At let its somewhat minor though.

  • Jason Gendron

5 championships in 10 years, who cares if hes alittle hurt, was last year, won a championship, get educated you jokes.

  • robb

I love bynum but he’s always gonna be a problem because of his grampa knees. He should be usin kneepads or something at least

  • Jer dawg

Smh… Big talk from Bynum all the time; wanna be an all star, wanna be #1 option, wanna be the best center of the decade, blah blah blah. Now this….i hope Dwight Howard still wants to come to LA when he’s a free agent. Make more endorsement dollars in LA.

Lakers should have traded him to the Raptors for Bosh’s expiring contract when they had the chance. Maybe it was Colangelo who nixed it thinking he could re-sign Bosh last summer.

What was he saying the other day about wanting to be featured in the offense more? His body can’t handle the workload.

  • Red Star

@Jer dawg, I couldn’t have said it better myself!

  • riggs

    perk with the payback!

Sad day for us Laker fans

bone bruises are not too serious where it will cause him to miss extended time. Calm down people. This is a normal injury.

^kap.. no its not a serious injury but considering bynums historic injury problem it is a big deal.. dude is always goin to have these nagging injuries.. he could be one hell of a player too.. a true center in a league with so few.. dude has the potential to be so much but it looks like he will just fade into obscurity like so many other would have been bigs.. dude is young yes but at this rate it doesnt seem he will ever be able to play a full season

regardless.. laker fan or not.. i never understood why people (ie: some of us).. have to say stupid things about an athletes’ injury… regardless if they always get hurt or not.. folks acting like the player chooses to be injured.. i’d rather have a hurt player that wants to be the best at his position.. than a player that never worked hard enough to meet his potential.. it’s like comparing oden to kwame..

  • MusketeerX

Rather he sit out now and recuperate than the play-offs. It’s a long season. One game or two won’t make that much of a difference.

  • barnabusb

I love that my sad trombone is first.

@musketeerX. Its no longer a long season. Were @ the halfway point. Yes,its a minor bruise. But this cats 2 injury prone. And who’s 2 say he doesn’t get injured again late n the season? Like I’ve said, bynum is the most overrated player n the L

  • http://theurbangriot.com The NUPE

He’s a much better than average center and I love his attitude about wanting to be the best center of the decade, an all-star and a first option etc. Isn’t this how all players should be? It’s a shame he’s hurt so often, but I’m not going to bash a guy for that. Injuries suck regardless if you’re a scrub or a star or your first of thrity-first injury.

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

Yeah, all players should have egos greater than their abilities.

People people please how short our memories are! Does anyone recall that both knee injuries from the previous 2 seasons recall that people fell on his legs? This isn’t injury prone it’s 2 strokes of bad luck! Also recall KOBE was one of those players!!!

  • unrel

    ^ no..

  • ripslam

With Bynum, any injury takes 3x longer. Dude decided to go on vacation over the summer instead of going through recovery. TRADE THIS GUY

  • http://zenguu Max

    Knee’s are really made bad.

  • dako24

Wayno injuries don’t make you a girl but being all bark and no bite do. Got a bone bruise? Heat and ice and play. Don’t be a girl for the money you’re making. Go out and play and stop talking about being the best bigman. Grow up and be a man yourself.

  • skillet forilla

But i thought he’d decided to become the main focal point for the Lakers offense? Bynum needs to make up his mind.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/02/andrew-bynum-out-with-bone-bruise-on-left-knee/ Lakers1993

the best thing to do is trade:

    Bynum,luke for Dwight Howard
    Artest for Iguodala
Fisher, theo ratliff plus cash for CP3/Deron William

thats the best way to win, the 3peat…if they want the 3peat they gotta make this trade “ASAP”.. Please Mitch Kupchak Make this trade to happened…….
