Phil Jackson Predictably Makes Fun of the Miami Heat Crying

The Zen Fella seemingly can’t pass up a chance to take a dig at the South Beach hoopers, and when it comes to CryGate, Jackson doesn’t believe in public displays of tearing up. From the OC Register: “This is the NBA: No Boys Allowed,’ said Jackson, whose Lakers face the Heat on Thursday night. ‘Big boys don’t cry. But if you’re going to do it, do it in the toilet where no one sees you.’ Jackson had initially said to KCAL/9 reporter John Ireland’s question: ‘I don’t want to talk about Miami’s situation.’ But Jackson couldn’t help himself.”

They’re gonna beat L.A. on Thursday. That’s how these things work.

Kobe is gonna dunk on LeBron, just like how he did it in the All Star game :)

WOW! Phil must have a selective memory, or misremember Fish and Kobe crying in ’03. Click my name and witness both Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant crying like little girls (not that there’s anything wrong with that, especially in the real season) on the bench for everyone to see after the San Antonio Spurs ended their run in the 2003 WCF

  • rich

thats the wcf this is a regular season loss and the heat were frustrated rather than disapointed like the lakers were. i get there is a lot of pressure on these guys but its not like tony parker stole your wife or anything(sorry brent barry)

  • Riggs

and then the heat go and beat the lakers by 20 points. Thats how this season has been for the league, freaking crazy.

  • bill breedley

fish and kobe cried bec they were not going to fourpeat! cryami chumps were weepin over a single meaningless game. totally different. cant imagine how the heat will react after getting booted out of the playoffs…

  • Zack

@drexnaw21, you should watch the video again. he definitely didn’t dunk on lebron.

Zack, stop with the ignorance. Dude got banged on. It’s OK, if you play competitive basketball you get banged on. It happens to everyone.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Chief Hypocrite didn’t say it was alright to cry if eliminated in the playoffs. Nope. He did say, “Big boys don’t cry. But if you’re going to do it, do it in the toilet where no one sees you.” Fish and Kobe better get the memo, and make sure to “do it” in the toilet this year. Just sayin’.

  • James

@IAMORANGEFOREVER saying players crying over the end of a dynasty (Kobe & Fish) is similar to players crying over a regular season game is plain stupid. and anybody who does that deserves to be slapped

  • James

yea sure iamorangeforever. last time fisher cried after a game he had just finished bustin up the celtics in the fourth quarter of Game 3.

  • True H

The CRYami Weep should actually blame spoelstra for essentially outing them by mentioning a personal team issue with the world. I think his days in Cryami are numbered.

    for the uninitiated:
    Miami Heat = Cryami Weep

clever…I just thought of this. Genius

  • ClydeSays

Phil isn’t much of a Buddhist, is he?

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

@Jamie – I completely agree with you regarding the importance of a regular season loss compared to getting elminated in the playoffs! If you’re going to cry, cry when it really matters, not when you lose a regular season game. However, if you’re going to cry, (according to Chief Hypocrite) make sure to do it “where no one sees you.”

  • Eddie

Can’t believe no one has said this yet: “Phil being Phil.”

  • Zack

if you play competitive basketball then you know what being dunked on is.. in the allstar game kobe beat lebron to the basket and lebron tried to make a play on it. cleary a stretch from being “dunked on”

  • Bulls2011champs

Ronron better not hear about this comment, or NO ICE CREAM FOR JOO PHIL! A la the soup nazi

  • bill breedley

who cares what phil said. bottom line the heat are pusses for crying over a regular season loss. crying because you got eliminated is a whole different thing. if you cant get that, well you are just plain and simple stupid.

stop defending the cryami weep (i love that name) makes you just look totally stupid in the process. this is the weakest softest team in the history of the nba. i’ve never seen a team with such talent and such softness combined

  • Red Star

    That wasn’t very Zen Phil!

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=j-JgAOrAQDc Nicolas Fleming

I’m not saying it was ferocious and it wasn’t Carter on Weiss, but anytime you go up to block something and dude rattles it down, it’s a dunk and you were up in the air with him. Dunked on. Not demoralized, dunked on.

  • robb

the Lakers are 8 in a row, the Heat lost the last 5, I want L.A. to win but it seems like the perfect situation to end a losing streak and stop the Lakers at the same time.

  • Jacqueline Mitchell

Phil Jackson is a trip without the luggage!

  • Omar

For the last time, Kobe dunked on LBJ in the All-Star Game, damnit!!!!!!!!!! He challenged the dunk and got dunked on. I give him credit for challenging but he got dunked on. Please stop making excuses for Lebron, he’s a grown man, he doesn’t need groupies to make excuses for him. New topic, please!!!

adding “gate” as a postfix to random mundane incidents soooo cool. We should keep doing every 2-4 weeks whenever new things happen. You know, cus its really cool and creative. Personally i cant wait for “Gate-Gate”.

  • Zack

    “DUNKED AROUND”

  • http://http//portlandfan1203.blogspot.com Karley

Has anybody noticed that the Lakers beat none of the top NBA teams except for the Spurs recently. Heat will win.. Kobe sucks

  • BostonBaller

I hope the Heat Lakers game goes into double OT and a game winning 3 is hit by……who cares, i just want to see a great game!!!

  • truthteller
