Grant Hill Joins Hall of Fame Board of Governors

Grant Hill becomes the first active player to ever get such an honor. Reports the Arizona Republic: “Hill will serve a three-year term on a board chaired by Jerry Colangelo, who remains the chairman of the Suns. ‘It is truly an honor to be elected as a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Governors and to represent the living history of basketball,’ Hill said in a statement. ‘It is important for the current generation of players to get involved with the Hall to help recognize the greatest in the game who have gone before us.’ The board governs the Hall of Fame and its election process, raises revenue and aims to increase awareness.”

The NBA needs its own Hall of Fame.

Duke players get alot of credit and perks that most of them don’t deserve.

@CONEY ISLANDER Grant Hill deserves all the credit in the wold. Classy guy on and off the court. I still think there should be an award named after him. He represents all that is good about this sport.

  • Coney Islander

I can see what you mean about him, classy guy, but he come on, really? Where are his rings and MVP’s? I don’t see the need for such accolades.

Playing through adversity, loving and respecting the game, working hard everyday, being a positive leader, never giving up. Yeah he doesn’t have an MVP trophy and he doesn’t have a ring, but had the circumstances been different, he’d have one. What Grant Hill represents goes beyond stats. The board made a great decision by including him. I don’t like Duke one bit but Hill is the man.

You think he’ll nominate the Fab Five for induction?

And all chances of the Fab Fives induction just went down with their hopes of making a new documentary….. Fab Five 2: The rematch 19 years later

Considering how conservative the Hall is, I think maybe his spat at the Fab 5 probably helped him get in.
