Former NBAer Stromile Swift Arrested For Stalking

For the second time in six months, former NBA player Stromile Swift has been arrested, this time for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend. The Shreveport Times is on it: “Former NBA player Stromile Swift was arrested Thursday for stalking a Shreveport woman, his second arrest in less than six months, according to police. Just before 10 p.m., police received a call from an adult female, Chaquinita Pouncy, who reported that Swift was following her vehicle. She said the two had been arguing prior to the incident, police said. Patrolman located both vehicles in the 3300 block of Ivy Lane, and Swift was arrested. Shreveport police also arrested Swift in February after he showed up at the woman’s house with a gun. Officers were at the woman’s residence in the 9000 block Walker Road investigating reports of vandalism when Swift drove up with the weapon in his pocket , said Bill Goodin, spokesman for Shreveport police. Pouncy reported that Swift had sent her threatening text messages. He was arrested Feb. 12 on one count each of suspicion of aggravated assault and improper telephone communications, according to police. Swift, a former Fair Park and LSU star, was the second pick of the 2000 NBA Draft by the then-Vancouver Grizzlies. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward played for four organizations over nine seasons in the NBA and averaged more than 10 points per game just twice before heading to China in 2009.”

instead of just arresting him and arresting him everytime he stalks this chick, how about they give this dude a mental evaluation. cuz from what I’m reading I can almost tell that he’s not all there.

Saw the headline in passing, and I almost died laughing until I realized it said “stalking”, not “streaking”.
    Darn it.

^haha @ Boing… I wonder if he did that stupid bird thing (where he locked his thumbs together and let the rest of his fingers appear to be wings after every dunk) while cuffed??

  • iLL wiLL

@Boss Terry…lol you beat me to it. When i think of Sto, I think of that stupid bird thing he used to do all the time after a dunk. I could see him doing that when getting cuffed. He did have a good dunk on Yao tho…

We have to wonder why he is getting in trouble behind this woman.
Maybe she keeps setting him up…
    It happens.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

@ Philo: Setting him up? Like, planting the gun in his hand, calling him up to her door, and then running inside to call the police? Come on now.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    Teddy:
    Not quite like that.
More like the woman saying to Swift, “hey honey, I’m sorry that we don’t get along. Why don’t you come over, so we can make up.”
Then, by the time Swift arrives to the scene, there are police cruisers everywhere.
Now, he becomes a harasser or a stalker…

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

But he had a gun in his hand.

  • backboard

the article never says anything about the gun being in his hand.

“if you knew rule no 1, biiches aint shtt, so why even trip off a biich that succ dicc”

  • HAMMER

I c Philo’s point. But still it doesn’t explain the gun posession, unless he had a license 2 carry it, or the threatening messages. So 2 me he just seems like 1 of them people who go overboard on their partners when it comes 2 control. And we all know how those situations can end up

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

*Pocket. Sorry, yeah, his pocket. That’s not suspicious though?

  • EtheKnickFan

    Chiquita? Isnt that a banana?

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

Well, IF… he had a gun in his hand, he’s in “deep doo doo”.

  • southern cutie!

Too funny all of these comments because I live her in town and went to school with them. The name jokes lol are hilarious

  • moneygetter

I heard the hoodrat stole some money from this dude and he was only trying to get it back. She just called the police for the attention she knew he would be the one that went to jail if she acted like she felt threatened. Poor guy, a few of my people know this Stromile and say he is a stand-up dude that helps his community.

  • Iseethruit

This is one of those things where a chick think she can use the police to rescue her after she violates a brother. They think just because you got some paper(money) they think you won’t do nothing to them. At the end of the day you still got to stand up as a man and handle that sh*t.They try to frame the situation like it’s some love obbsess type sh*t to cover the real story they got some conniving bit**hes out there.
