Yi Jianlian Injured His Right Knee Playing in China

Eazy Yi recently became the latest NBAer to suffer an injury while playing overseas during the lockout. He’s expected to miss 2-4 weeks. China Daily reports: “Guangdong Hongyuan star center Yi Jianlian was injured midway the game when teammate Zhu Fangyu crushed him in the right leg while falling after a scramble with Beijing’s Stephon Marbury. Yi, who started his game with three points, then walked off the court and was sent to a local hospital for examination. … ‘We are still unsure about Yi’s injury,’ said Guangdong head coach Li Chunjiang.”

man yi is good just his iq is kinda low i know y’all be saying he be parked outside tryna hit shots instead of posting up and grabbing boards but i think its more about his basketball iq… personally my game didnt improve at all at my current age but i got smarter, back in high school my ball iq was in the negatives lol but its kinda sad china doesnt have yi’s back like yao…

As much as I hate comments like “non-factor,” they’re right.

    A couple things.
    1. teammate Zhu Fangyu crushed him in the right leg
    – “teammate” and “crushed”

    2. after a scramble with Beijing’s Stephon Marbury
    – obviously Marbury is involved. Who else?

Cheshire, thank you for sharing. I didn’t see anything in the article about you, but clearly that’s what we were all hoping for, a paragraph of jibberish about how your basketball IQ changed over time. I don’t know why this isn’t a bigger story.

All the talk about the lockout and the NBA schedule and free agency doesn’t pay nearly enough attention to you. We need to petition Slam so that they can steer away from the distractions of the NBA and focus instead on you. That’s clearly what we are all clamoring for.

Oh no, how will the Wizards ever compete for the title this year without Yi?
