Charlotte Bobcats, Ramon Sessions Reportedly Agree to Contract

As expected, free agent point guard Ramon Sessions will be packing up his bags in Los Angeles and heading to Charlotte, reports the Observer: “A contract signing is expected soon, as Sessions was traveling Thursday and unavailable to finish paperwork. [...] Sessions, a native of Myrtle Beach, will be playing for his fifth NBA team. The 6-foot-3 point guard has averaged 11.1 points and five assists over his NBA career, shooting 45 percent from the field. He finished out last season with the Los Angeles Lakers following a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round in 2007. He’s also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves.”

Way to take the money N run! This dudes a chump. He deserves to stay with a team like the bobcats. Definitely will have less pressure because we all saw what happen in LA. Cough cough choke……..

From the Lakers to the losers.

This just proves me that he would rather put up numbers for a horrible team than be a contributor for a contender.

@T-Ray, well a while ago I remember he chose the T-Wolves over Miami and I pretty much said the same thing.

don’t want pressure and bright lights damn ya!!!
at least he wants to ball — ball hard in loserland

Give the guy a break! Can’t blame him for looking out for himself. Starting/backup does not make a different in his number. He will provide you with a number you paid for his service.

  • da real

wtf are they doing in charlotte?? is this kemba’s team or not?

  • Marcos

He never could play, and he’s just taking care of his family and his future. Except for 4, 5 teams (for which no more than 15 players really make a difference) the rest of the League is just taking care of business.
Choker or not, ring chaser or not, as far as we know he is he a good (but limited) professional ball player.

This gotta be depressing for Ramon: dude goes to LA, in a starting spot, nonetheless, and, after a good end of the regular season, chokes hard in the playoffs. Instead of pickin up his option and playin his @ss off in the next season to prove his value, he opts out of his contract, thinking that LA, desperate for a PG, would go hard after him and offer a higher contract for 4 years or something. But, LA got Nash, and Ramon got really screwed. Now, he is going to the worst team in the league, and he doesnt even know if he will start. This guy really needs a better agent.

Backup of Kemba, and maybe they play together some minutes. But, the question is, how much will pay Bobcats to Sessions? Seems that no more than 5 million/year, maybe the $4.4 million of Augustin’s qualifying offer. Remember that Sessions would have earned $4.55 million next season to play for a contender but chose to test the market and now maybe earned less money or equal to play for the worst team of the league. Smart agent. Sessions lose with this movement but also the Lakers. Steve Blake is gonna earn $4 mil the next two years. Lakers should have trade Blake and put 5 mil year contract in Sessions pocket to command the second unit. Kupchak is one of the worst GM adding peaces. He doesn’t know to do the dirty job. Lakers need something with more charisma with players like Magic or Riley.

Because Kupchak didnt add Pau for Kwame?

  • RS

He took the advice of his agent to opt out of his contract he wanted to stay in LA but then they got Steve Nash. He would have signed with Dallas but they only offered 3 million. He signed with the Bobcats because they offered him 5 million. Like marcus posted he just taking care of his family.I know his brother in law and basically thats what happened. We even joked about so much for the LA trip we had planned.
