Stephen Curry Receives Invite to 3-Point Contest, Unsure If He’ll Accept

There’s no doubt that Stephen Curry—he of the smoothest, sweetest 3-point shot in the NBA—deserves to be a contestant in All-Star Weekend’s 3-point contest, but after being snubbed for a spot in the All-Star Game itself, the Warriors guard appears unsure whether he’ll be making the trip to Houston at all. Details via RealGM: “Stephen Curry has been extended an invitation from the NBA to participate in the three-point shootout during next month’s All-Star weekend, but he’s debating whether to head to Houston for just one event. ‘It would be a big commitment heading down there for one event so I’m figuring out if I’m going to make that commitment,’ Curry told RealGM on Saturday night. Curry is adamant he has moved past his All-Star snub after the coaches failed to select him as a reserve on Thursday. If an injury replacement is needed on the Western Conference team, Curry will almost assuredly be a top option for commissioner David Stern.”

Would have no problem with him declining. He belongs in the game on Sunday. Not Saturday night’s festivities.

Curry, Redick, Korver, Martin, Foye, Jimmer. These would be the best guys for it, I think.

    If Curry declines; Novak?

If no Curry…probably Mayo. That sounds like I’m ordering a sandwich.

That’s one way at getting back at the coaches, another way is entering the contest and completely decimating everyone. In other news, since Rondo is out of the east, Brook Lopez to take his place, anyone agree?

Or Deron Williams, since he’s also a PG.

    Curry sammich?

  • RedDragon10

True, but I thought the consensus was that Lopez has been having a better year. I don’t believe that there is a requirement in position in choosing the replacement, though.

the NBA needs to just bend the rules one time and replace Rondo with Curry.

  • big roy

Take out Foye and Jimmer replace with Mayo and Novak.

Take out Jimmer and Martin for Andersen and Batum/Thompson. Maybe just take out Redick

  • Mack

Kyrie should be starting now that Rondo’s out. Simple as that.

Joe Johnson or JR Smith gets in before DWills if Stern has to pick a guard because they are playing better. But Lopez should be first in line barring any sentimental choice like Paul Pierce.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Should’ve been in ahead of Lamarcus Aldridge. Also… how is Luol Deng becoming a perennial All-Star? Not hating, just debating.

  • MasterSplinter

uh….remember that guy named Ray Allen?

  • King David

son i be thinking the same thing!!!!

  • huami

    JR Smith? wow. *sarcasm

  • RedDragon10

Well, yeah. That’s a no-brainer. I didn’t say that Lopez should start, it would make no sense to start 4 frontcourt players. Elevate Kyrie to the starting position and have Lopez come off the bench.
