Agent Says Andrew Bynum Expects to Be an All-Star Next Season

Andrew Bynum’s camps is talking big ever since the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired him. Bynum’s rep, David Lee, claims that the 25-year old center expects to reach NBA All-Star status in 2013-’14. Per the Akron Beacon Journal: “His expectation is to be nothing less than an All-Star next year,’ Lee said. ‘Now I don’t know if anybody wants to say that out loud because there’s always a hesitancy to put pressure on himself. But in his mind, absolutely. He doesn’t see any reason why not.’ Bynum chose the Cavaliers in free agency Wednesday in a decision Lee said ‘really was not a question,’ even though the two left Cleveland and met with both the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks before rendering his decision. He missed all of last season with problems to both knees and had arthroscopic surgery on both knees in March. With the free agent meetings concluded and his decision made, Lee said Bynum is scheduled to resume his training sessions in Atlanta immediately. ‘I don’t think (the knees) are going to be a prohibitive issue,’ Lee said. ‘I think last year was an aberration for a whole host of reasons.’ Plenty of folks around the league disagree, including some within the Cavaliers organization. When asked Wednesday which knee was worse, a Cavaliers executive said, ‘They’re both not good.’”

His agent also believes in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause.

    Santa Clause, excellent kids movie.

So Bynum who hasn’t played a game in 15 months, has gotten fat, has two terrible knees, and hasn’t even practiced in over a year is gonna make an All Star team? I’ll let someone else finish that.

Not a fan of The Rock’s Tooth Fairy movie? lol

    Nice throwback there lol

he’s still young though, so won’t be too much of a surprise if he makes it.

We all know how this is gonna go. Bynum starts light workouts this month, says he feels great. Next month he reports swelling/pian in one of his knees. Doctors find something. He needs to sit and rest. Misses training camp. Projected to be able to play in December…..

    And so it goes.

Does Bynum know he has to play to be an all-star?

Even if he plays, he isn’t guaranteed to be a better center than Noah, Hibbert, or even Lopez and Horford in the east. Usually agents talk up their players before they get signed.

    never underestimate irrational fan voting.

there is actually incentives in his contract his time, which is good for both sides. he will get a minimum of 6 mill and max of 12 mill if he meets the requirements. I think he will do his best to be on the court enough to get the extra 6 mill

    Major crimes?!

Loved the wire, wish they made a new season :/

Tell that to Yao Ming circa 2011. All Bynum needs is some heavy promotion in China.
