Kevin Martin Says He Considered Returning to OKC Thunder On The Cheap

When Kevin Martin agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, it seemed like a solid situation—good money for him and a nice deal for the Wolves. But, as he told the Minnesota Star-Tribune, the guard thought hard about returning to the OKC Thunder for less money: “He chose the Wolves’ four-year offer worth nearly $28 million over a Thunder proposal that was significantly restricted by the luxury tax. Asked if he seriously considered returning to Thunder for relatively little money but the chance to win a championship, he said, ‘Always. I also feel like I found the same thing with Minnesota being younger. They’ve had some injuries over the years, but they’re a good team, too. I made a decision and I think it’s a great one. I learned from Oklahoma CIty, they’re a great organization. The way KD and Russ approach the game, I  think that’s something I’ll bring to Minnesota.’”

“Yea winning would’ve been good, but money will be better.”

u can tell Thunder will eventually lose both their stars if they cant even keep Kevin Martin (not even mentioning Harden) and not getting anyone to replace him

He should’ve stayed. and you know. won a ring at some point.

Yea if they can get a a strong forward to harass LeBron instead of kd guarding him they will win multiple rings

Kevin went from playing with Kevin to playing with Kevin…that’s alotta Kevins!

IMO good move on his part. This will make the NW Division even more interesting rivalry-wise. Blazers, Nuggets, Thunder, and possibly Wolves in the playoffs.

against who? The elder spurs, the over achieving nuggets, golden state had an 2008 I think kind of year when they beat the number 1 seeded maverick then collapse the next year I think there magic wears off teams wont be surprised, if they are healthy its Thunder
