Oden will be the first No. 1 pick since Kwame Brown to not sign an extension after his third season. From the Oregonian: “The Trail Blazers and the representatives of Greg Oden have come to an agreement: The oft-injured center hasn’t played enough to warrant a contract extension. As a result, the two sides will let Monday’s deadline pass for first-round picks in 2007 to sign contract extensions, meaning Oden will become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2011. Once he becomes a free agent on July 1, the Blazers will have the opportunity to match any offer made to Oden.”
